Stoops says he was contacted - not that he had a done deal, nor negotiations, nor anything else.

And the other forums reporting a "done deal" were all pointing back to here.

Bjork and Stoops did have a solid agreement and he was in the process of making the arrangements and was telling his staff and media he was going to Texas A&M.

A few hours later, he had to come up with that tweet in an attempt at damage control.

Remember, all this crap is happening at the same time. My guess is that they talked terms, both party agreed on basic terms, Bjork goes to Regents at the same time Stoops is telling people he's leaving. Leaks out QUICK. Texags goes crazy, Board is reviewing for the first time and say "uh no", not necessarily because of Texags. Stoops eats crow and we look bad when all we were doing was going thru the process.

Also "hearing," that because it was VERY likely that Stoops hiring meant E Rob wouldn't be retained, the players revolted.
