The corndogs were saying the same things in 2018 in the 74-72 upset. There were missed calls today, and every SEC crew and game that I've watched since we joined has had plenty. SEC crews are no better or worse than the Big 12. When we were there, we complained about how poor the Big 12 refs were. There is no conspiracy in Birmingham to keep us down. We are plenty good at doing it to ourselves.

Poor Secondary play.
Stopped running the ball when it was effective.
No contain on their QB... should have had someone spying him the whole game.

It's not always the number or yards, but when they occur. Take holding for example. Calling it or ignoring it on a TD play is a lot different than on a third and long that fails to convert. One is make or break for points and the other is at the end of an already dead drive.

No game is ever clean. There are subjective calls and no calls all over on every play. Refs can certainly influence a game by choosing exactly the right or wrong moments to decide to call or not call a penalty. Some they're going to call no matter what, but there are plenty where they can kill a drive or let a team get away with murder on a key play.

I think every fan base sees missed calls that would have been in their favor, no matter how ticky tack, and rarely sees any missed calls going the other way, unless blatant.

We got jobbed by the refs at least 4x today that I can think of. The holding on Moss 30 yd run, the offensive PI, the late hit call on the qb, and a clear missed hold call on one of their TD's. I do recall a missed hold on us on a critical 3rd down call.

His crew is consistently one of the worst in the conference. And think this dude doesn't feel the pressure his Saturday job can have in running his local business in Texas? At a minimum, the guys running these crews should be full time.
