From their POV football programs are like boy bands: the fewer it takes to capture most of the market, the better. They'd just as soon shove us off a cliff as pay for an extra headcount or two to cover us. It's an enormous conflict of interest, but current arrangements give them an unreasonable amount of power over the outcome.

I don't expect the new coach to fix this, and "just win baby" won't address this pressure; at most it'll give us a few JFF-esque years of immunity. This is an issue for which I'd look for Bjork to be putting together strategies.

Was a huge risk even with Jimbo here and if we had a winning record, etc. Aub recruiting hard and their top WR choice for them to be on the ground floor in their rebuild under H Freeze (proverbial stay home).

If I committed there and I wasn't going just because the coach I'd likely just wait and see who the hire is...

on the flip side I'd know who's at Auburn and what that program currently looks like and they wouldn't be my 1st choice elsewhere...which was my point, right now the two programs it's hard to argue ones in a better spot even not knowing the coach.

if Coleman wants to play for worse coaches and worse QBs at Auburn, then so be it. We got rid of Jimbo to literally help him win more here and rack up better stats & get drafted better. Cheers

Yes, but Texas A&M is a complete unknown at this point. Relationship with the school's coaches is everything in college recruiting (well, now sadly money may be more important, but Auburn can afford big NIL $ too). There is definitely risk of losing a recruit like Coleman.

I wonder if Coleman enjoyed the Auburn game and visit yesterday.
