I saw this online, and it's perfect:

Texas A&M won the game 51-10. And they also fired their coach after the game. A&M gave walking papers and $77 million to Coach Jimbo Fisher to make him go away. That's how much money was guaranteed on his new 10 year contract extension.

You read right. The coach who just won 51-10…who's team moved to 6-4…thereby qualifying for a Bowl game…fired a winning coach with a 45-25 record at Texas A&M. That's a winning percentage of 64%. Yet A&M was willing to bite the bullet and fire him immediately after his 51-10 win and pay him $77 million to go away.

Because the people who run Texas A&M aim for the stars. 64% winners isn't high enough for their standards. They want to go undefeated. They want to compete for the SEC championship every year. They want to win the national championship. That wasn't happening. So, they will find a new coach who can meet their lofty expectations.

Bravo. This is what winners do. Just winning isn't enough. Winners want to win it all, not just 64% of the games.

A&M gave Jimbo 77 million to go away, A&M is paying Jimbo 77 million to not coach, etc....

such lazy, intellectually dishonest, and patently false bs

A&M is fulfilling the contract they have with Jimbo. Because it was guaranteed, what A&M is paying for was to get Jimbo to coach here.

You have to wonder who railroaded A&M into firing Jimbo. It was a medical a narrative allo year long.

It's a bit of semantic parsing to quibble over whether he's being paid to coach or to go away, btw. Speaking of intellectually lazy…or perhaps that's just cheap rhetoric.

This isn't winning. This is stupidity. The stupidity was doing this contract in the first place.

It isn't uncommon at all for a major university to fire a coach for the performance Jimbo has had. Far from it. The only difference is those other schools don't have to pay $77 million to do it.

Some of you seem to be taking pride in paying $77 million for a coach to go away. That is NOT something to be proud of. It is embarrassing. We need to not do anything like this again.

They're not paying him not to coach. They're paying him because is contract demands it.

He could end up the coach at t.u. How bout them apples??

Pay your ex coach a buttload of money and now have to see him coach your hated rival and meet once a year.

Ags need to think further ahead. I can almost guarantee you that if Jimbo does decide to coach again, it very likely will be at one of our SEC rival schools.

Why would another school hire him?
Because he has a national championship, while a long time ago, not long enough ago to be irrelevant. He has what it takes to win.

Keep Jimbo, fix our offensive line, fire Addazio, fire the strength coach, teach our special teams and defensive backs that you cannot tackle above the waist (ineffective), and allow BP full control of the offense.

Stupid a$$es.

Remove the gimme games from our record (LA-Monroe, Sam Houston, UMass, Kent State, Northwestern State, Lamar, Prairie View, UTSA, etc.) and we are at 32-25 or 56%.

How about we look at the only record that really matters...our SEC record...27-21 or 56%.

...and don't forget, Jimbo lost to the hillbillies of App State...the #6 team lost to Appalachian State...at home!

That's just pitiful.

Jimbo Fisher's SEC record is 27-21 (0.5625), which is slightly higher than Kevin Sumlin's 25-23 (0.521). Sumlin was fired for his inability to win SEC home games, and Jimbo was fired for his inability to win road games.

1. Jimbo Fisher went 16-6 (0.727) in SEC home games, including 10-5 (0.667) against SEC West teams. In contrast, Kevin Sumlin went 8-14 (0.571) in SEC home games. Even worse, he went a putrid 3-12 (0.200) in home games against SEC West teams, including a 7-game losing streak at the end of his tenure.

2. Jimbo Fisher was 7-14 (0.333) in SEC road games. Even worse, he went a putrid 3-11 (0.214) in road games against SEC West teams, including our current 6-game losing streak since a 31-20 win at Auburn on 12/5/2020. In contrast, Kevin Sumlin went 13-9 (0.591), including 9-8 (0.529) against SEC West teams.

3. Jimbo Fisher lost 9 consecutive road games, including 8 SEC road games, since a 35-14 win over Missouri on 10/16/2021.

4. In year 5, Jimbo Fisher lost to Appalachian State 17-14 at home on 9/10/2022. That was the first time we lost to a Non-Power 5 team since an 18-14 loss to Arkansas State in 2008, which was also the previous time we missed bowl eligibility before a 5-7 finish last year. Sumlin never finished worse than 7-5 in the regular season.

5. In year 5, Jimbo Fisher posted a 2-6 SEC record and finished last in the SEC West because he lost both games against SEC East opponents South Carolina and Florida. Kevin Sumlin's worst SEC record was 3-5 and worst finish was 6th in the SEC West in 2014.

Here's to FINALLY winning! Jimbo had all the tools and gave us a D rated program. It was painful to watch! Millions. A new stadium. The best fan-base ever, the 12th Man! I'm so thankful he's gone! Here's to winning!

lol, he's 27-21 in conference. You know, the games that actually matter. Not a bunch of preseason cupcake teams to pad your stats.

Wanna do ranked teams or road games next?
