I heard a lot of talk about his move to linebacker. I haven't heard a whole lot of talk on these boards about him being an impact player. I actually think he may start at Rover? and if not start, get significant playing time. Anyone else think he will be an impact player?

He will come in handy when we play spread offenses but he wont take warren's spot.

After seeing him in 2002, I thought he was going to be an impact player in 2003 along with Randall Webb. He struck me as a Roy Williams type of safety who was probably better suited as a LB than a safety. My only question about him is how quickly can he pick up the position.

I don't see him starting over warren. Justin's a stud and has a year of experience. I do see them sharing a lot of PT to keep them fresh

I like his versatility. He's big enough to provide run support, fast enough to cover, and I like the possibility of him blitzing on passing downs.

Torbush said in the FSSW broadcast of the spring game that Warren and Jackson were the two "most-improved" players on defense. At the time of the interview, he claimed that Keelan would start.

That could all change with the influx of JUCO LBs this summer.

imho, jackson was the most under-utilized player on our defense last year. I have no idea what the reason was, but I'd like to see him on the field some more. He seemed to have a knack for making big plays in 2k2.

I think his main problem in 03 was injuries. But he seems healthy now and was always around the ball during the Spring game.

You're right about the spring game, Jackson was all over the place and quick. By far the most impressive DB on he field. I was sold on his ability and the move to LB after watching the M&W game. I will definitely hop my ass on this bandwagon.

Jackson played a very Rover-like position against OU in '02. Go back and watch that game and look at the ridiculous number of times that #33 is either making a tackle or breaking up a play.

In his career I think he's shown a knack for getting to the ball. His speed makes him a very good option to be on the field for coverage purposes. He has the size to cover TEs, i think. He also brings another dimension to blitzing. The LB unit could be a lot of fun to watch this year.

THe only draw back on Keelan has been is propensity to injury.

Hopefully he can have an injury free year.

He played at the rover spot all spring. He is an Lb all the way and is up to 230 plus pounds.

Our LB position will be much muCH, MUCH better than last year across the board. The question will be how long to sort through and settle who is the best at each position and develop chemistry.

"only one thing is important!"

Keelan could be one of those players that explodes onto the scene of college football. It happens every year. Some guy comes out of nowhere and the media types are bewildered.

He seems like a perfect fit for the Rover position.
