I think it was premature, but it was coming sooner or later. They were trending downward, Texas trending upward, and that momentum shift couldn't have come at a worse time. They need to swing big because if they **** this one up it's going to hurt.

With the large buyout, one more year made sense to me. Still no guarantees, but a more cautious approach.
It felt like it was supposed to be "Next year" for the last 3 years. Pass.

personally i liked jimbo and i really wanted him to succeed. he has been a great ambassador for our program and school. although he wasn't as successful as we had hoped he did elevate the stature of our program. unfortunately he just couldn't get us over the hump. this move especially now really surprised me, hopefully the hire will as well.
My feelings are: love Jimbo. Really do.
But it hasn't worked. What more of a sample size do you need ? We are 6-4 in year 6.
