I remember that the O-line in Turner's second stint was not nearly as good as his first, but man it can't be any worse than what Addazio is putting in the field.

Jim Turner is over rated

An over rated Jim Turner is still 100x better than what we are stuck with.

And in his second stint, he led the OL that blocked for Trayveon to go for nearly 1,800 yards and lead the SEC in rushing.

Exactly. He was awesome at Incarnate Word and in his first season at Texas State he beat Baylor and has them trending up.

Texas State is reserved for the Armadillos. The school in San Marcos is forever SW Texas. It had several suffixes but was always SW Texas since its founding.

If not the best coach, certainly the best eye for talent. Some of the guys on our OL under him who went on to play in the league were completely unknown or overlooked recruits.

Agreed 100%, my only question is how likely firing Jimbo actually is? I honestly don't see it happening unless we lose out. So fixing what we can while we are stuck with him is the only hope. And our OL has been terrible throughout Adazio's tenure, and a good proven OL coach resides at an FCS school a couple hours away.

I work with a guy who played under Addazio at BC. He said Addazio is the biggest clown and complete joke of a coach. He used the example of Cristobal's screw up at the end of the miami game. Says Addazio does stuff like that on a regular basis.

Jim Turner… why in the hell A&M couldn't / wouldn't keep him (thrice he left)? He is by far the best position coach this football program has ever had (at least one of the very best).

No way they allow Jimmy T back after the way he screwed us over. His first stint under Sherman, he had the pleasure of working with Sherman's recruits in NFL first rounders like Joeckel, Jake Matthews, Big Ced and Ifedi. Those were all Sherman's guys. So were other guys that went to the NFL or played a significant role like Pat Lewis, Jarvis Harrson, Mike Matthews and "Mr. Do It All" Ben Compton.

The next stint he had here was much less successful when you don't have all those stud recruits from Sherman and then the way he screwed us over in 2018 when he knew he was leaving for the NFL, left the cupboard bare and a lot of scorched earth on the trail. Yeah, I don't see them bringing him back.

Turner is a freaking Norse god of OL coaching compared to what we're rolling with right now...but he's unhireable after that stupid video stunt AAAANNNNNDDDD I don't think he has the attitude to cower to King Mensa Jimbo which is required of all coaches.
