If you see what A&M is offering in the new training facility and you bail out because of a couple close losses you don't have what it takes to play in the SEC.

Nah. Barring a turnaround this year, he is going to have a bad year and recruiting will start falling apart before then. He is gone in that case.

The only thing that saves him at 7-5 is a top 10 class. The closer he gets to top 20 and farther away from top 10, the more likely he is canned at 7-5.

Because they believe they are so awesome, they will get playing time, if not start, from day one, regardless of who else is on the roster. Even if a coach never outright promises this, the coaches don't disavow the notion of the recruit.

Coach: "We really need players with your talent. You could have a great career here wearing (name your uniform color)."

Recruit: "What about (current All-American)?"

Coach: "The best player plays. (Current All-American) knows that."

Recruit: "So there's nothing keeping me from starting my freshman year and setting a freshman record."

Coach: "There you go."

Recruit: "Yeah man. I'm gonna be a starter!"

Coach: "Let's go get see what you look like in the (uniform color) and take some pictures."

I don't understand the fear of losing all the recruits. We are lousy with 5 star talent right now and can't win an ugly contest. The kids will come and go, this is about the future of the program IMO.
