Meh. I have a hard time caring when stellar recruiting hasn't gotten us past square 1.

Why would a receiver want to play here?
Pretty sure there are better hs offense (schemes)Lake08 said:
Why in the holy hell would an offensive recruit EVER consider this high school offense?
Unfortunately this is most likely the case. Long gone are the days of recruits choosing a school because of, y'know, the actual SCHOOL. They're all hoes for the cashLuke The Drifter said:
He's just seeing if he can get a better NIL deal somewhere else. That's all recruiting is these days. It's not about winning programs or great cultures. It's simply about where these kids can cash in the most. If you win some games along the way...great. If not...at least they got paid.
No one is coming to A&M because of Jimbo or going to Texas because of Sark or going to LSU because it's faaaam-leeeee. They're going to those places because of NIL deals.
This ass-backwards, short-sighted mentality is part of the problem that has hampered the program for decades. We just don't understand how to play the game. You don't hope recruiting tanks in order to help get rid of a coach. Say what you will about sip, but they understand that when a coach is on the way out, that's the time you INCREASE support (recruiting $) so that the next coach doesn't have an empty cupboard to work with. Hopefully one day we'll figure it out but i'm not optimistic...BudFox7 said:
If you want jimbo gone, you need recruiting to fall apart and a bad year next year. Current A&M decision makers have v little foresight.
To be fair, before Conner got hurt, he was making our WR look really really good.Lake08 said:

People do realize this happens to the likes of Georgia, Bama, Ohio State, LSU and others, right??
As has been the case for 3 seasons now.Sterling82 said:aggiegolfer2012 said:

For one thing, they will have a highly rated and productive QB when he returns from injury. That was with minimal protection which I see no chance of staying status quo for next year.
