We have a band, you know. And people can yell.

Marching bands are going to be extinct in 20 years. They take up valuable seat space, no one really pays attention to them anyway, and most don't travel. The halftime shows are a the equivalent of a local band playing a wedding, it's background music but nobody really cares if they're their or not. Sad, and not what an old fart like me would prefer, but unfortunately true in my opinion.
That's like saying sex with real women is going to be dead in 20 years.

Take that sheet somewhere else.

Tradition is what makes Aggieland a special place and gameday experience.

Things change. Traditions change. Kids change. Preferences change. Twenty years ago we were still using land line telephones, renting movies from blockbuster, buying stuff at the mall and we all had a map in the glove box. DJs at stadiums didn't exist and the FTAB and the Yell Leaders were a focal point of gameday. Unfortunately, things changed.

I asked my kid if the student section is fully engaged with the Yell Leaders. She shrugged and said, "Maybe for the first few but when the game gets going it kinda dies out."

I'm not quite yet an Old Ag, but i'm getting there. Went to the Alabama game, had great seats. Kyle Field was loud. For 3 quarters it was one of the most exciting games I've seen in some time.

I've learned to live with the DJ (might have even liked it a bit, ha!). Times are a changing, I'm not gonna get stuck in the olden days. If the players like it, I like it.

We just need to fire that damn cannon more!

BTHO everybody!

Get rid of levy.

Horrible choices in the F8.

Dead air would be an improvement. Replace it with crowd noise.

1000% agree.

It dies out because the music is so loud they do not have to pay attention or make an effort. It's the worst thing that's happened to Kyle.

But here's the thing, and there's really no way to get around it. 18-22 year old kids relate more to DJs, hip hop music, fireworks and smoke machines than the Yell Leaders and the FTAB.

And more importantly, they enjoy them more. Those elements of the game day experience hype the team and the students up more than the traditional Aggie spirit organizations.

So the decision is, do you cater to the middle-aged and elderly fans who give the donations and buy the full-price tickets, or do you cater to the students and athletes that the institution actually exists for?

I don't know either.
