Any coach, assistant who voted for the HC etc that has a two-loss team in the top 25 this early should lose all voting privileges.

I think this is going to be a year where the Playoff rankings are going to be significantly different from the AP and Coaches polls. The current polls don't make a lick of sense.

Perfect. I hope they leave us unranked and we come out swinging against bama. If our DL can be as disruptive as they have been we have a solid chance. Win that and keep winning. The rest will sort itself out.

Are you able to quantity how much you "could care less"?

My opinion of the team is not formulated around what a bunch of coaches think.

Reality is we've been ranked too many times in the past and then pulled up our skirts. Moving forward we won't receive votes on potential, it will be based 100% on merit and wins. Win out and we're good. But agree, hope the players leverage it as a slap and motivation to ensure we secure those wins. Big part of that success though will be to minimize and the stupid mistakes and penalties which we have a propensity to make.

True, but the LSWho loss was to another ranked team. Outcome of the game only decided at the very end of regulation.

Their defense looked atrocious tho. I know Ole Miss has a good offense but LSU allowed a lot of yardage and points to Arkansas last week and we saw that Arky's offense isn't all that good yesterday.

I really don't give a crap about rankings but LSU give up over 700 yards of offense. That is INSANE especially with the new clock rules.

Been arguing this for years. No reason to rank anyone this early. And even though Coaches and AP are "separate" from the playoff committee they serve as the baseline.

Why would losing to two ranked teams necessarily mean a team should be unranked? Unless, I suppose, one is lazily judging based solely on record.

This is why we need the 12 team play-off. The polls are pure horse***** Who follows the NFL and pays attention to rankings, as opposed to standings?

Texas is #3 because they beat Bama and need to be highly ranked to justify keeping Bama withing striking distance of the play-off, and because Texas is a shiny, marketable brand. LSU is still ranked for similar reasons.

You folks are just getting ****ed. On the upside, everybody in the West looks beatable, and record beats polls in the end. You get Bama at home, and I hope your team is being reminded daily that Texas beat Bama in their house by outscoring them 21-8 in the 4th, with Bama's last drive being 3 plays for -8 yds, and Texas finishing the game with 8 runs (not counting kneel-downs) consuming the final 7:14.

Big picture: ND is the king of poll bias. They set the record for consecutive bowl losses in the 2000's. They have yet to win a BCS or CFP bowl (0-8), also a record, never getting closer than 14, with an average 21pt margin of beatdown. Why? Because they consistently get ranked too high and end up overmatched in their bowl games.
As you may have figured out by the name, I'm a fan They Who Are Not to Be Named. That said, I don't have a problem with A&M. BlowU, The Farging Irish, and the Pigs are a different matter.

Let's wait till after next week. If we beat Bama we will be in the drivers seat for the SEC west if we lose then it's going to be a long shot. There are so many big games ahead of us to figure out how good we really are it's not worth complaining.
