Weigman is the best pure passer QB we have in a long long time. JFF was no doubt very exciting as well and we have another QB who should draw a lot of interest.

Petrino + Weigman makes me feel like our O is in good hands for the next 2 years.
Today the special teams got some good practice. Also our backups.
We need to improve our D in order to really compete. I hope JF doesn't get in the way.

Agreed, i would put him ahead of Pullig, and just behind Murray, the original Murray. But expect him to end up being the best pure passer.

Secondary is still a little sketchy. We will see when we get into conference play.

Weigman best passing qb we had since kubes

Sickening that we didn't play him earlier last year.

Jimbo has his quarterback. He's got talent at running back and wideout, so I'm not worried there either.

Def needs to find a defensive coordinator worth their salt somewhere, though, and fix that damn offensive line.

Pullig? Good lord I'd hope out QB in 2023 is a better thrower than a guy who spent 95% of his career handing the ball off.

Pullig was QB when I came into A&M. Didn't care too much for A&M football at that time though! I knew they were the stars, him and McElroy.

And stop the stupid penalties which can gift the game away in conference play which will be close scores.

Defense is the key. Need to play tough, maintain position, watch the ends, contain. D is the answer. We have the O talent in the WR and running backs plus two good QBs.

I feel like Weigman is getting more confident and hitting the guys before they're finishing their route.

He was 25/29 for 337 and had 2 TDs.

Let's keep the W's coming.

Pullig was the greatest winner and game manager we've ever had, but cmon! Just a completely different era. Pullig is not better than CW.

Wiggy has a 72% comp. percentage.

Many of us knew he was best option last year. Jimbo made the wrong decision.

As the OL gets better Wiggy will get national attention.

Pullig's best pass was the one that landed 3 yards in front of the receiver. Thankfully that was usually followed by just handing it off.

C. Pulling had way more potential than he was allowed to decelop. He was recruited by Holtz at ND because of his passing. He rarely threw downfield at A&M. We had stud RBs and our passing game was mostly dinks and dunks.

It was definitely a different era. I think CW will easily be the best downfield passer in TAMU history. With JFF's OL and the current receivers he would likely be the most proficient QB in SEC history.

In just over 2 quarters.

And before the uninformed start yelling about "It was just ULM", let me explain to you that the most impressive stat here is the 25/29.

Accuracy has nothing to do with the opponent.

But it DOES have a ****load to do with pre and post snap reads, which Conner does at an elite level.

He makes the correct read almost 100 pct of the time and intuitively understands not only WHERE to throw, but is generally releasing the ball BEFORE the receiver is there.

It's truly a rare thing to behold in a QB this young. But he's been doing it since high school.

I said it before, the things this kid does naturally are the things that cannot be taught.

Yes, I think we are good on O. We don't need to improve there to do SEC damage. However, we still won't win unless the D shows up consistently. One part of the puzzle is solved but the other not yet.

Last year was different. Maybe Wiggy was not yet ready. You don't want to put someone who is not ready and risk their confidence being destroyed.

Agree, for the most part. Against a faster and more athletic Miami team, he did not read the corner blitz at all. Those passes to the TE would have been useful last week.

Granted; but the argument is that Jimbo should have made the switch weeks before he did and we might not have lost 2-3 extra games. King was not getting it done, repeatedly.

Weigman is as good as I hoped he would be…maybe even better. I don't have a read on the defense from today but I think York is going to be a great one. He's almost single handedly shored up our run defense. At least so far.

Connor looks real good and the feeling I get is he's out for blood on every play. Very intense.

OL is not bad in pass blocking . Not good in run blocking.

We are plenty capable of scoring points. Not so sure about limiting quality opponents from scoring .

CW looks like the real deal. Which is why we need to actually win a few games this year, because otherwise NIL money maY take him to Alabama. They would give eye teeth for him right now.

Oh, you think it could never happen? This is the 21st century.

Simply put, he has a big league arm. The throws he can make with strength and accuracy is elite. Super impressive. Reads have been solid too for the most part. He's got tremendous next level potential.

How much of his performance is because of Petrino? What if it was Jimbo "whispering" to the QB this year? Would he have sucked?

Anything can happen but there is more to life than NIL money. He can build a legacy here. He is NFL quality so the money he may make here is peanuts compared to NFL money for elite talent.
Why would he be penny wise and pound foolish?

Well, 2022 Wiggy is not the same as 2023 Wiggy.

Yes he is. The scheme wasn't there last year. The QB has to play within the system the coaches install

A lot in my opinion. He would still be good in Fisher's offense but he wouldn't have the stats he's compiled so far.
