Also, I posted this yesterday but tu and Sark will be the reason they decide to fire Jimbo. If it doesn't happen after this season, it will after Sark embarrasses Jimbo in 24 on Kyle field. The old rich Ags hate losing to tu. That is all they care about.
This right here is why I am not sure jimbo is safe no matter what.

We saw the whorns fire coaches after decent seasons (mack and herman) because A&M was perceived to have passed them up program wise.

It may be our turn to do so, much sooner than anyone thinks.

Jimbo Fisher Texas A&M contract, buyout clause: Here's how much Aggies owe coach if fired

What is Jimbo Fisher's buyout if fired?

Here's a year-by-year breakdown of Jimbo Fisher's buyout at Texas A&M if the Aggies were to fire him in the season:

2023: $76.8 million
2024: $67.55 million
2025: $58.2 million
2026: $48.75 million
2027: $39.2 million
2028: $29.55 million
2029: $19.8 million
2030: $9.95 million

Don't know if it's been brought up in any of the Fire Jimbo/Hire Elko threads. That's a hell of a lot of money to come up with.

Well the idiots that hired and extended him are the ones who will have to come up with the money.
People who make these kind of decisions never use their own money, always somebody else's, otherwise we would not be where we are now.

You don't think that the BMA writing a multi-million dollar check isn't influencing the decision? They're just forking over literal fortunes just because they're nostalgic and just want to beat sip?

Don't be naive. The AD might make the announcement, but their role in the decision process is more like a consultant

Incredibly naive to think "we can't afford the buy out".

Simply untrue. We raise something like $70mm a year just in annual seat licenses. Jimbo is literally due a fraction of the buy out at termination and the rest is paid annually. We ABSOLUTELY can pay him $20mm to walk AND spend another $10-12mm on our next coach.

So they'll raise seat license/annual donation a couple hundred bucks to help cover but w Texas coming in and the excitement over a new coach they will have zero issues making the money work.

Like I said, if someone thinks "we don't have the $$" they probably said that when Fran was fired, when Sherman was, and when Sumlin was too and they simply don't understand how easily Texas A&M can make the money up.

If we see texas in the CFP and we're sitting with another 7-5 season, jimbo will be fired.

I think even the BMAs know how crucial this season is to our long term success with texas coming into the SEC

I get it. We have money.

We don't have $78 million, plus assistant buyouts, plus new coach buyouts. You're talking well over $100 million for all of that, and it doesn't even include salaries for the new coaches.

We're not going to spend $100 million+ to fire a coach after this season. That's insane, even for us. We're two years away minimum.

Jimbo could rebuild Florida in the Swamp

If he can recruit / NIL in Florida they could restock to near Swamp Kings level Talent

me thinking outside the box,

Have Florida offer Jimbo $$$ contingent of him voluntarily breaking out of our 9 million a year to 2031 Contract

I came to this thought thinking about Georgia and Tennessee.

Kirby Smart and Georgia are in Dynasty mode now, but right before they couldn't beat Bama in Kirby's early years

I am done with giving ANYTHING to our alma mater. John Sharp and his minions throw around hundreds of dollars like they are nothing. My measly estate will NEVER go to Texas A&M.

What is West Virginia up to? Is their coach going to be fired soon? Maybe they will take him off our hands.

Depends on "getting it going." If we go our usual Texas 8&4, it'll be seen as improvement and it will give us HOPE, for a ten win season… in year f 7.

Buyout cost is more than the cost of buying out a head coach. Depending on contract provisions, assistant coaches and staff let go can be costly.

Jimbo Fisher's nickname should be boat anchor. Because he's preventing us from winning anything.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.
