I currently do not have cable, nor would I like to pay for it just for college football season.

What's the best streaming package to get ABC, ESPN, and SEC Network to cover any A&M game airings?

Thanks

Whichever one you choose, be prepared to miss 3/4 of the 1st quarter at least due to the Colorado State vs. Akron game going long.

If those are the only channels you want then ESPN+ will have them all, even the ones airing on ABC

If you have all the channels as well as ESPN+ you can access them through +. I don't really get why this topic always comes up. I guess I just watch too much sports because I can't imagine not having access to all these channels year round.

Not true. You can watch them on ESPN+ but only if you have a service provider that gives you access

With small kids, I absolutely cut packages back throughout the year or I would stay distracted with sports all year.

I'm in same boat OP. Last year I used Fubo which was fine. Considering them or Sling this year just for CFB season.

Not false but not clear: ESPN+ is a separate subscription that due to their branding is confused with the app that supports streaming all of their linear channel content (ESPN1, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, and sundry other linear offerings from ESPNN that get shifted), streamed offerings, (especially SECN+ and ACCN+ as distinct delivery channels), as well as on-demand after broadcast streams.

ESPN+ offers quite a broad range of content like Big 12 that in effect gives the Big 12 a virtual channel for their conference alongside other very interesting content for the sports nerd. That includes access to the ESPN produced dramatic content like 30 for 30 short-form documentaries.

To access the Linears and channel-specific streaming (SECN+ and ACCN+ especially) you need a TV provider like a cable, satellite, or streamed media (YouTube TV, Hulu Live, Sling, DirecTV Now) that provides you with a license for the content you want plus credentials you can use to log in to access that.

Note there still is some ESPN3 content I occasionally see which was their non-linear streaming live content originally accessed via web browsers licensed to cable viewers as a branded experience, as well…another example of branding confusion from roughly 2010 or so.

Of those TV Providers only Hulu integrates ESPN+ because Hulu is manager by Disney.

I hate that it is confusing and takes a lot of explanation to be "precise." But I hate more using the term ESPN+ as a catch all for the ESPN (formerly WatchNow) app on your phone, tablet, or streaming device. A little precision goes a long way.

As a historical dude note: ESPN+ is an extension of the Insider paywall feature that at one time included a print magazine and ESPN+ also unlocks some web site and app news articles especially for bettors. They aren't great but extra toilet time reading at least…

You should copy that because there will probably be 15 more threads about this through the first week of games.

youtube tv does not include the Longhorn Network nor the Pac 12 Network. Bonus points for Google.

I've had great success with YoutubeTV the last couple of seasons but I'm planning to try Hulu his year.

Primarily for the new season of Futurama. If the live streaming sucks then I'll fall back to YTTV.

Oh they love sports but we spend too much time outside in Colorado to devote to the tv. Football, soccer, basketball, hiking, camping, fishing… the move up here broke me of tv sports watching addictions in a good way.

But Aggie football and baseball are my only exceptions.

I found a spot one camping weekend that had reception and streamed an entire game while overlooking Estes Park. If I don't have reception then I guess I miss the game.

If you want cheap, go with Sling.

The downside? Sling does not allow ff through commercials. Even if you pay extra for their DVR service, you still can't ff through commercials.

I moved to Arizona and you're right about too many things to do. I'm looking forward to watching lots of football on my phone on the golf course this year.

I've got YouTube TV, ESPN+, and Hulu. I rarely watch anything on Hulu because of commercials. Also, I like to have all college football games because I record them all. That way I can fast-forward through commercials, half time, etc. So, my favorite is YouTube TV (not regular You Tube). ESPN+ also has commercials, and you can't really record and fast-forward them conveniently, so I rarely use it.

As for Kodi, it's a great app ! I use it on my FireTV. You can find almost anything you want in the way of sports, movies and TV through the Kodi Add-ons. If you use Kodi, you absolutely need a VPN. I also use torrent services like Real Debrid and Premiumize Me (Kodi is free, but you have to pay for a VPN and torrent services).

If you're interested in Kodi, here's a great place to start: TroyPoint. It will tell you how to install Kodi, and all the Add-ons.

I don't really get why this topic always comes up.

Because costs change every year.
Because some products get better and some get worse.
Because after a year of experience with technical difficulties and little nuances that creep up, people rethink their current provider.

Really not too hard to understand why at the start of the football season there are posts asking people their opinions on what is the best package.

This is people seeking information so they make a good choice. It's the same thing that happens in the business world; the travel industry; outdoor hunting and fishing; and a million other topics.

Unlimited. Cloud. DVR.

With the click of a single button, you can record every single NCAAF game. (Same goes for NFL in your market).

Scout our opponents without limitations.

Enjoy a limitless buffet of CFB every Saturday. Without commercials! (Takes discipline not to notice the scoring update spoilers at the bottom screen ticker or when they cut in with scoring update footage from other games.)

So if you're a football-aholic this is your choice. YouTubeTV is $72/mo. Not sure what Hulu+ is.

I just switched to Hulu from DirectTV and have a question about recording games. Suppose a game goes beyond the scheduled time, as they usually do. Does Hulu keep recording untill the game is over or should I set the next game on the same channel to record just to be sure?

I don't have cable either. Whenever a Texas A&M game is on CBS or ABC, I am grateful. If a Texas A&M game is on a cable network, I just stream that game on YouTube for free. However, because I was not able to stream the NY6, or CFP games on YouTube, I subscribed to sling orange for a month.
