Most in The Zoo said he wouldn't make it. He is in Year 3. For how long? Who knows?
I don't think his career can be classified as "making it" but I'd take what they pay him to not make it.MaroonStain said:

Most of us could retire with $5 million. I'd happily warm a bench for that $$carl spacklers hat said:
Dude signed a $5 million contract with a $1.15 million signing bonus and $1.15 guaranteed. I'd say he's done just fine, even if his ceiling is bench-warmer.
I could see Jimbo taking him on staff in some capacityAston04 said:
I see coaching high school football on his near future. I hope he invested that money well.

Making money does not equal success. Has he "made it" as a QB? Lots of NFL guys never get to the second contract. To me, that would be the sign of success.carl spacklers hat said:

I'd take that deal in a heartbeat! Great pay, diet/nutrition plan, work out, travel and see lots of stadiums/cool cities and NOT get violently hit regularly to where you are physically/mentally disabled for the last 15-20 years of your life.carl spacklers hat said:

Hmmm, Mond completes 2 passes & has been relegated to the practice squad; TexAgs posters claim SUCCESS!! Johnny Football actually played more games and at least scored a TD or 2 in the NFL at the same position; TexAgs posters claim FAILURE.
Is this simple bias b/c of Johnny's polarizing nature once he got into the league, OR, are the Mond defenders propping him up to obscure his polarizing actions during the Covid season?
Why not compare both of their careers to Tannehill instead so as to lead to the correct conclusion that both Johnny & Mond SUCK at being a NFL quarterbacks?
I mean if he can end up coaching at a big TX HS program, the dude will still end up making plenty of moneyAston04 said:

101, but at my age I'd rather not risk the injuryQuote:
There are only 100 or so players in the world capable of playing at the level of a professional NFL QB.

He has completed 2 passes for 5 yards and is about to be dropped to the practice squad or cut in place of a 5th round rookie. I say his NFL career has been a stellar success...

Mond was one tough guy - almost never missed a game due to injury.
The money/body part is right, but lol at the travel. They see a hotel, the stadium, and the airport. That ****s controlled like Cfb.AColunga07 said:I'd take that deal in a heartbeat! Sign me up.
Why? The OP was bragging/trolling about no one thought he would make it 3 years. Yeah he is getting paid decent money but bragging about seeing the field for one game is not something to brag about.NoahAg said:Can you post your NFL resume?P.U.T.U said:

Don't forget his agent fees, any handlers fees , his approx 35k per year to the NFLPA ,state and federal taxes.JimbosHatBarelyFits said:ClearlyJustSomeAg said:Most of us could retire with $5 million. I'd happily warm a bench for that $$carl spacklers hat said:

This. Plus if he makes it this year it'll have pension and it'll equal to about $20k a year for life, which isn't much but it definitely doesn't hurt. Get a different job after football and instead of bringing in 80k, your bringing in 100k.
20k a year will at least pay for your food each week. He's doing just fine. 1.15 signing bonus + 1.15 guaranteed is 2.3. Say he received 1.38 of that after taxes, that's like making 70k every year for 20 years. People like to say dudes didn't make it, but watching Mond at A&M and seeing him make this $$, I'd conclude that he "made it". He can go buy a 500k house in san antonio and not have a house payment at age 24
