Traditionally, people tailgated because traffic around sporting events was so bad and local restaurants were so crowded that it was a convenient way to eat cheap in the parking lot. The concessions were a pretty small factor in all of that. Nowadays it is just part of the cultural experience.

I'd say the rent seeking is probably a bigger factor at Kyle Field on why the concessions suck.

I have complained about the concessions for years to the 12th Man. There are 2 factors here. The food and the people serving the food. The staff behind the counter is not trained properly. They do not prepare enough food for the surge that happens after the Aggie Band marches so you spend the 3rd quarter in line. The food is not prepared on site, simple warmed. They have to bring it up from the bottom level which takes forever.
Watch how they refill the ice. One guy, one bucket, one ladder. The ice machines need to have access from the rear so they can keep them topped off. He does three and the first one is empty again.

Why don't they involve the public in picking and grading how the concession company does? 12th Man will not return you phone calls. I have even called Levy. Useless

I always make sure I have a big meal at our tailgate just before every game so I won't have to buy the overpriced bad food at the concessions.

The food and food services at Kyle are awful and embarrassing.

I complained to A&M AD for stadium operations about a game where it was cold and rainy and they ran out of coffee and hot chocolate. What I got in response was stats about how many servings the sold and how Levy did a good job. It told me there is a real disconnect between the fans and our athletic department. It is one of the reasons I have cut way back on attendance in general. The people making decisions just don't listen to us average fans.

I paid $4 for a bottle of water at a baseball game. Hell, I can buy a case at a grocery store for $4.

You can complain about price or quality or service. But the notion the stocking costs are the same at a stadium suggests you're just bad at economics…or don't work for a living…

That's pretty cheap compared to most stadiums

Aggie concessions are on par with the Maroon and White game.

I'm no longer disappointed since I decided to believe there were no concessions.

I'll eat and drink before and after the game.
