Honestly did not know deadspin was still a thing.

Just when I wanted to hate this hire, I see this and realize it's going to trigger all the right people with the possibility of digging us out of this hole. At least I have that!

Yeah, usually the whole "bad boy" image comes with winning as well (ie Miami back in the day or Bama( That's usually a big reason for the hate. We are the first "bad boys" who haven't accomplished a thing that I can remember. So it's the worst of both worlds in that regard. Pretty impressive accomplishment when you think about it.

All I really knew about Petrino's past was the incident with the girl and the motorcycle. That wasn't good, but given the way people talk about him, I wanted to better understand the hate. Do some easy research on him (things written before he became our OC so there are no thoughts that the media is just against us). He is not a good guy. He is an a-hole, a liar, and not very honorable guy. It is a lot more than a guy cheating on his wife. There is a reason no Power 5 schools (other than us) wanted him.

We deserve any negativity we get over this hire. Petrino better be awesome as an OC to justify the deserved criticism we will get over this. Whether it is throwing money around recklessly, hiring Durkin, or hiring Petrino, we are trying really hard to be the most hated football program in college football.

They don't hate us because they ain't us. They hate us because we do some very head scratching things. If we don't win big really soon, I hope we wipe the slate completely clean of this coaching staff and athletic department and just become a "normal" program.

I expect Steve Addazio is the racist. There supposedly were allegations of him saying racial slurs at a previous coaching position. No idea if it is true or whether it is something blown out of proportion due to Political Correctness.

Let's do a deep dig on the coaching staffs of all of the Power 5 schools. Do you think their ranks are full of saints? Heck, are you or your own family members nothing but saints?!!! Even if that's the case, casting stones at the man still won't make you any better than Petrino is. It just makes you feel a lot better about yourselves than you should. Give the guy a break. Now … if girl on the motorcycle was fat and hideously ugly, that would have been a dealbreaker for me.

Petrino is not a decent person. I seriously doubt many "normal" people are anywhere near what he is. Not many coaches are like him. At some point, you have to view a guy as unacceptable to hire. For many, Petrino is past that point.

Why do you think NO other Power 5 teams had interest in him?

As I said, look around on the internet for all the stuff Petrino has done. It is pretty pathetic we hired him. He better make us win BIG TIME to be worth it.
