Just a reminder that Petrino developed this kid into a Heisman Trophy winner and 1st round NFL draft pick. I wonder how many college OC's could have done the same. Lamar was an absolute boom or bust athlete trying to make it as a college QB and those situations rarely work out. Imagine what he might be able to do with Weigman.

I know what you are trying to do here… but KK called those plays for Sumlin. Petrino called his own plays.

it's weird how having a great qb makes you a great offensive coordinator and a terrible one makes you suck. whether it's petrino or jimbo give them a good qb and they have great offenses. give them a mediocre qb and you get mediocre results. i imagine every coach is this way. petrino had great results when he had jackson and mallet. hopefully he can do the same with weigman.

Lol at " developed" by any coach. Any time there is a great player on a team that the coach just happens to coach on they are always involved in that players " development "…

Really ??

Just something coaches take credit for to get them recognition and mostly higher pay.

Yea, but Lamar was FAR from a sure thing coming out of high school. The college scene is littered with guys like him (athletes) trying to make it at QB and develop into an NFL prospect. I'm betting that >80% of college staffs would have screwed it up. It took the right coaching staff to develop him into a Heisman Winner and 1st round NFL draft pick.

Its also weird how we have a QB that's looks pretty damn good with a lot a potential to be great. Should we complain about it some more?

That's kinda my point also. Weigman is an outstanding QB, so hopefully Petrino's Aggie offenses can look like some of those at Arky and Louisville under great QBs.

Frankly, if we could just get a 36th or 42nd ranked offense and fix the run defense, we could be pretty damn good.
