Just thinking, has anyone ever seen one of these NIL contracts? I would be curious as to how they are all set up and what the stipulations are.

If anyone can get their hands on a copy of one, it would be the zoo who delivers.

I believe they're basically an independent contractor agreement. This article discusses it.

Yes

It's a contract. There's no standard required form (at least in Texas).

Terms are varied so what Bryce Young contract looks like much different than a kicker

I can confirm they have a "morality clause" just like a college coach's employment agreement (& every other employment agreement for that matter); accordingly, if you see a Twitter or YouTube post claiming kids are leaving A&M because "we" (NIL Collective) crawfished on a NIL deal by refusing to pay, remember that the athletes' off-the-field conduct in each of these instances breached their contractual duties & such is the reason why the NIL Agreement's obligation to pay was terminated.

it is very interesting...how the NIL contracts and dollar amounts are all kept hush-hush -- zero or almost zero leaks.

the powers that be...really don't want the fanbase to know.

similar to how a non-profit doesn't want its donors to know how much the CEO makes

WTF are you talking about? Please, show us your W-2, your 1099, and any other income you get.

Just who are the "powers that be"? The school's only involvement is to make sure it doesn't violate state law.

You have direct knowledge that this happened to any of our players? I could certainly see for Denver Harris (smoking pot, driving like a maniac) but not aware that his deal, or anyone else's, was terminated.

It seems to be open in Mississippi. There were a couple of sports reporters that cover the Mississippi universities and they discussed how much NIL budget money MSU has, and how they divy it up. They stated that RaRa was demanding more NIL $ than the whole defensive line collective, and too large a chunk of the total, so not doable for MSU. They said RaRa would end up at Georgia because $$$. The reporters also discussed Ole Miss RB (Judkins) deal after last years production was 2 years at $500k total. compLane Kiffin show him the money!

You can listen for yourself. Interesting discussion between these sports reporters who hear "unofficial" terms about these types of deals from their sports sources.

These reporters discuss how the coaches help decide how the NIL money is distributed per player. Did NOT say the funds come from MSU state funds. Like Saban fundraising meeting at the local Chamber of Commerce, the businesses and alumni come up with the funds for the "collective". The point the sports reporters were making is there are limited funds and the coaches have to make decisions on how to allocate the funds among players. RaRa demanded too much and that is why he is now a transferee to Georgia. Some teams meet those demands and keep the player.

Do you think the MSU coaches were not aware of any of what these guys were discussing about RaRa? I am no expert on NIL, just contributing things I hear about while trying to learn how this all works. Each state may be different.

"It used to be the stadium, conference, assistant pool, your salary … nope. First question should be, 'What is your NIL structure?'" Kiffin told Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated in October.

Dellenger reported on Oct. 31 that Auburn announced more than $12 million in NIL pledges still more than the $10 million Jones and the Grove Collective have recently reached. Other reports have suggested Auburn's NIL figure is closer to $13 million."

https://hattiesburgpatriot.com/area-news/ole-miss-nil-collective-tops-10-million/

A couple days ago, a coach tweeted that he knows of SEC coach that offered $5 million to a QB to transfer. A coach offering money? Did Academy Sports offer? Was it Coca Cola that made the offer? NO. The coach made the offer. Coach made offer from the pledges of the corporate and alumni participants. The coach was acting as Agent. Who was the Principal? Law of Agency.

Mississippi State's NIL Collective
https://cdispatch.com/sports/2022-11-22/mississippi-states-nil-collective-has-taken-off-heres-whats-next-for-the-bulldog-initiative/

"And on Nov. 2, Mississippi State issued a statement from interim athletics director Bracky Brett urging fans to support MSU's collective.

Winfield said Brett's statement set off a nationwide wave of ADs promoting NIL. Those who don't, according to Winfield, risk frustration from their fan bases as well as falling behind in the NIL realm.

I have seen it suggested that it's basically malpractice for an athletic director not to be out in front of the issue," Winfield said. "I don't know that I'd go that far, but I do think it's extremely important."

I tend to look at it as free market capitalism. The price a player should be paid is equal to the 2 parties agreement. A free market will determine value. Production is valued, whether estimated future production, or production realized.

Ranking the strength of every NIL collective in the SEC.

https://www.si.com/college/auburn/football/college-football-ranking-the-strength-of-every-nil-collective-in-the-sec-football

"1. Texas A&M (The Fund)
The Aggies' collective earned their athletes over $4 million during the 2021-22 school year, per Collier Logan of All Aggies. Collier noted in his September article that "While NIL is a largely unregulated realm, the state of Texas requires that NIL contracts be disclosed along with their values. This allowed Travis Brown at The Eagle to compile some of the numbers for a better look at the NIL situation in the state. When all the sums were tallied up, athletes at Texas A&M earned over $4 million in NIL money during the 2021-2022 school year."
The rumor that A&M spent over $30 million on their most recent recruiting class seems to be untrue, but the collective is certainly helping all of A&M's student athletes get compensated."

Can the SEC teams overspend? Or is there a budget to be allocated?

Look at old Saint Nick Saban bragging that he gets his players paid. Whats all that talk about Jimbo? Saban finishes at #3 for last year.

"3. Alabama (High Tide Traditions)
Founded in April of 2022, High Tide Traditions has taken over as Alabama's primary NIL collective for student athletes. The Crimson Tide also have "The Tuscaloosa NIL Club" which primarily partners with YOKE, an app that allows fans to connect with influencers via paywall.
Head football coach Nick Saban said that his players made over $3 million combined last season. That number has surely gone up this year."

Read the above posts and reply back. Is the Coach an agent for the school? Is the Athletic Director an agent for the school? If there is an Agent there must be a Principal. Who is the Principal? Who is held responsible for the actions of the Agent? Are you stating the SEC collectives posted above are not affiliated with the SEC schools? Why are the schools names there? Who benefits from the athletes being signed up and playing games at the school? The Law of Agency.

Who offered the $5 million dollars to a QB this week? Coca Cola or Academy Sports? Or an Agent of the school? Does the Coach have an agreement as an Agent of Coca Cola, Academy Sports, or the NIL collective?
