Announced he's returning to Oregon for another year. Must be his 4th graduate degree he's on? Isn't he like 37 now? Didn't he start for Auburn in 1998?

I get the sarcasm, but he started at Auburn in 2019. He is 22 years old. This is his 4th season and is apparently using his covid year to play a 5th. Pretty common these days.

Even before Covid, 5 years eligibility wasn't a rare occurrence.

He's on the Nick Starkel path. If I was a college QB and knew I probably didn't have much of a future professionally, I'd stretch out my collegiate career as long as I could.

Oregon has TE offered 9th yr of eligibility...so a common occurrence in the NW apparently.

Not really. Nix has been a legit power 5 starter for several years. Starkel not so much.
Let's go, Brandon!

Still won't be as old as Stetson Bennett currently is.

If you're not going to play in the NFL get as much NIL as you can/ I think you'll see more and more players do this.

I think Nix was a true freshman in 2019. UTSA QB coming back for his 7th year.

Players like Nix very smart to stay as long as they can. He will be getting Nike NIL $$$ and more free education. He has no NFL potential so why not?

He may have a different ceiling in college but the fact is that his ceiling is still COLLEGE. That's what makes him on the Nick Starkel path.

I would give up a lot to go back in time and do college all over again! I'm happy for him.

But aren't players are supposed to turn pro or wash out by their junior years?
You know, so teams can be "young" every season and expect better luck "next year?"
Thanks and gig'em

He's maximizing his earnings potential. He wouldn't be a high round draft pick this year and likely not next year so why not stay in school, live for free and bank money?

Yeah, you are probably spot on. In college he is worth way more. The backup qb money will still be there in a year and Bo doesn't appear to have the stuff to be a starter in the pros.

I applaud Bo Nix as I, myself, was on the little-known decade plan at A&M.

This is a weird post. Guy is only going into his 5th year. Meanwhile we had guys like Myles Jones still on the roster until he entered the portal to try and play somewhere else.

All these losers who got cut from their middle school B team talking crap about a quarterback who could start for half the D1 schools. Y'all need a different hobby.

Because, in your 50's there's nothing else you can do in sports other than hate on kids in their 20's.

You kidding? Bo is a young 'un compared to Grandpa Frank Harris. Gramps is a 7th year senior citizen!
