To tell me who the opponent is? I found this picture in a bunch of pics from 1988 and 1989, and I'm driving myself nuts trying to figure out which game it is.

Home game in the late afternoon. Looks like late October/early November.

I see some green in stands so maybe Baylor.

Well, the wind is out of the north, so you can bet that it's NOT a September game.

First thing I noticed (I majored in METR) was that the wind was blowing out of the north. I was thinking 1989 LSU, but it was over 100F at kickoff that day. No way the wind was out of the north.

Summer As, so likely not November.

Looking at the attendance I'm guessing it's either of the 88 Louisiana tech or 89 SMU game.

This is my guess. A&M played Baylor October 15th, 1988. High of 86, low of 57.

Too many empty seats for a Nov. game.

tt, bu, or rice for Oct. of '88, lsu, USM, or UH for '89.

There's also a lot of people wearing shorts.

Winds out of south that day, according to historical data.

It's the Maroon & White intrasquad game.

My mom liked to take pictures of march in and halftime. None of the pictures are labeled though, and she never took pictures of the game to help me know who the opponent was (which would also give me an exact date of those pictures).

Some of them are a little easier to guess. 1988 was the only year we ever saw the Ags play in the Astrodome. Cougar High had to call a timeout at one point in this game because of our crowd noise. Can't be too many times in college football that a visiting crowd has done that.

Ok, my final guess. Rice 1988. October game so probably a little warm and we were 3-3 going into that game after starting off 0-3 that year. Probably explains the attendance.

Band wearing Class A summers, so September or October game

I'd guess it's Rice if 1988

Was there a north wind and clear skies on any of these days?

Oct 1, 1988 - Texas Tech (NW wind and partly cloudy - possible match)
Oct 15, 1988 - Baylor south wind
Oct 22, 1988 - Rice south wind
Sept 2, 1989 - LSU south wind
Sept 23, 1989 - Southern Miss north wind, but mostly cloudy
Oct 14, 1989 - Houston east wind

Agree it has to early in the year (warm), wind out of the North, smaller school (empty horseshoe), and enough green shirts that would indicate an opponent. Everything points to game vs North Texas (which everything fits), but that was Sept 22, 1990. Possible you are off a year?

I don't see how anybody call tell there is green in that picture.

I see what looks to be one woman in a green dress, and she's standing (a visiting fan would likely be sitting).

I've been wondering if it was the LSU game from 1989. I'm going to get to work on finding out if the wind was out of the north that day. I do remember that it was hot as hell.

EDIT - Wind was out of the south on 9/2/1989, so that's off of the list.

These are photo albums that my late mother made. All of the pics in the album this pic is from are from 1988 and 1989, my older sister's last two years as a student as A&M.

1990 was my freshman year, and those pics are in a different photo album. It's certainly possibly that a 1990 pic could wind up in an earlier photo album, but it doesn't strike me as likely.

EDIT - I'm going with the Oct 1, 1988 Tech game. I got all of my weather history from wunderground.com. No idea how good it is, but I'm taking is as gospel.

Old School.. LONG SLEEVE Summer uniforms.
If it's a Nov game, it's early. When does the switch to winter's occur?

Winds out of N & NW, but cloudy all day.

I am not certain, but I think this was vs Penn State, 1986 maybe? I don't recall exactly, but that Penn State D was something else back in the day

But we didn't get the "WELCOME TO AGGIELAND" sign at Kyle until 1988.

Didn't play Penn state in 1986, and the home of the 12th man signage wasn't installed until 1988

Another good clue for the TA super sleuths. That's a pretty big shadow across the field for a halftime show so I'd guess an afternoon start?

Baylor 1988; I see a few green shirts in the stands behind the visitors bench.

Literally no football equipment on the visiting sidelines. Has to be a scrimmage or something along those lines.
