No hats....(as he's wearing a hat).

Has cameras rolling for his first introduction to his team.

Basically accuses them of taking their position for granted.

Essentially names his son as the starting quarterback.

Great example!

You will be sniffing his undies when Deion takes Colorado to the playoffs and demanding the BMAs to fire JF and bring in "Prime".

Weed is legal in Colorado. No local popo hassles there. Does the NCAA drug test?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

It's an old school thing not wearing hats inside. I had a prof at A&M who wouldn't let us wear hats in class. And Deion already said going forward there won't be any hats, hoodies, headphones, etc in meetings. He had a hat on that was given to him for his press conference. I doubt you will see that again from him. I swear some of you are just looking for something for which you can criticize him.
It also a show of respect when you enter someone's house or building. I was always taught from a young age to remove your hat or cap. He is teaching to show respect.
Aggie Band not the easiest but the Best.

he's also coaching a 12-0 that will likely be 13-0

"Smart, tough, fast, disciplined with character"

Yeah, we'll see how much smart, discipline and character he portals to Boulder. I suspect he'll find that even the Pac 12 is a monster hill to climb compared to Jackson State and what he may feel is a stepping stone is actually more like the plank he'll be walking.

I don't understand why he's telling them they will not be allowed to wear hats in team meetings while he is wearing a hat in his first team meeting.
Ever have kids? Because he's dad and he can wear a friggin' hat. They have to earn their hats.

I suspect he is going to attract more than a few players that won't turn out good for the program even though they are highly rated (on the football field).

He must be counting on a ton of players bought from the transfer portal to be recommending people transfer out like that.

Prior to his arrival, Jackson State was just a place to play football.

Sanders arrived and you can see all of the P5 transfers he took in. He drafted a little better than Jackson State had done, including convincing the #1 player (a CB) in the country to play there.

Sanders had success at Jackson St getting players that were far better than the FCS teams generally get.

He will be looking for a different kind of player for CU than he was Jackson St. The shine and luster of the "I'm coming" schtick will wear off quickly.

God did not ordain him to coach Colorado and his whole "Divine appointment" schtick is offensive.
So many athlete's and coaches reference providence in their decisions and results. Do you find them all offensive?
So... are you a Christian? Do YOU believe God called the AD? so that He could strategically place Deion as the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes?!

Now if Deion takes his players down to the spring and asks them to drink water... and if he puts those that lap it up like a dog on one side and those that use their hand to lift the water on the other... maybe I'm wrong.

But, I'm going to need more than just Deion's account of God's appointment.

Why do we hat hats???
If you watch old movies, guys often take their hats off when entering buildings. This is especially true in Westerns, excepting taverns/saloons for some reason.

It was done in real life as late as the 1980s. I always took my hat off inside a building.

Ar least he didn't bring up his predecessor's office decor!
The guy that did that then proceeded to have a WORSE record than his predecessor!!!

yep, I can remember in the 70s and 80s it was normal to remove a hat indoors.

Definitely removed a hat in the MSC
it's dumb, having hat hair is a worse look than wearing a hat.

The msc makes sense, but people don't remove hats at restaurants anymore either because hat hair is a worse look, especially when you're mangy and balding.
People don't remove hats at restaurants anymore because we quit teaching classic manners and how to act in public a long time ago, not because of hat hair.
Hats used to be a weather item. You'd take it off when inside. Hats are now part of fashion. Time change. It's less about manners and more about how things are used. But carry on that people don't have manners now.

Wearing a hat signifies arrogance in some situations. And authority. If you don't want to show authority then you remove it.

He will absolutely bring attention to a program that has not garnered attention in a long time. I still think players will be drawn to play for him simply because of his personality. Not 100% sure it will work out in a place like Boulder, but the same was said about him going to Jackson, MS.

Plus, if a kid is looking down and wearing a cap you can't tell if he's paying attention.

I think of it like Penny Hardaway at Memphis and Juwan Howard at Michigan. Seemed risky. Howard has done better but both men have done better than worst case.

If Deion does similar, especially if he focuses on recruiting and gets excellent coordinators and position coaches, I can see a window of opportunity especially with USC and UCLA exiting.

Guaranteed? Nope.

Hats are fine. He's showing the team that he expects discipline, hard work and buy-in if they want to be successful. don't overthink things.
