I hope for everyone's sake that this is him having pictures of some 16 or 17 y.o. girl that sent him topless pics that he kept on his phone, and not young kids being sexually abused. I'm not saying that the first is OK, but there is a mile of difference between the two for 19 year old.

The Gainesville Police Department said Kitna was interviewed by officers and that he told them he thought the images he shared were "legal" because he found them online. Police say they searched Kitna's electronic devices and found three more images of child sexual abuse material.

Played here at Reedy HS in Frisco. While I have zero opinion on this other than I hope the facts come out that it's not as horrific as it sounds, we have several friends from Reedy whose kids (my youngest boy's friends) played football during his time there and I'm sure they are upset about this.

The tip came from National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and sent to the feds. This isn't a case of him sharing a pic of a 17yr girl he was dating. ****ing chomo will get it in jail. Scumbag POS

I don't think that proves anything. A 16 or 17 year old can also be missing or exploited, actually probably moreso than a little kid.

These organizations typically have certain pictures flagged and then sent out to catch predators. Kinda like Chris Hansen, sounds like these images were clearly of underage minors

To clarify, NCMEC does not "send out" pictures. They respond when known CP images are downloaded.

Also, investigators I've worked with have said they don't really do anything if someone downloaded a bunch of legal porn and it looks like an image or 2 is questionable. They are looking for a pattern that looks like the perp intentionally sought out CP, not something that may have been accidentally downloaded.

Someone else brought up the idea that maybe it was a topless pic that a teen girl sent him. It gets weird because there are ages where it is legal for a couple to have sex, but it is CP if they photograph it. Prosecutors will usually look the other way on those cases, so long as the pics were consensual, there is no distribution, they are few in number, etc. The reality is a jury isn't going to feel good about labeling someone a sex offender and putting them in jail in those scenarios.

Yes. From what I remember my son's friends telling me, Reedy had a better younger qb who may have started, yet Kitna got offers from Boston College and UF because of his dad.

Exactly, sounds like the issue may be that they failed to win championships. They obviously were carelessly hired to win football. where exactly does the scumminess come in? siunds like you have a school board and/or parents/community issue!

If they were winning state championships, would it be an issue?

They have to be district employees not necessarily classroom teachers. They can be "Assistant AD" and not have any classroom duty. Other titles like UIL compliance coordinator, recruiting and/or athletic title IX coordinator can also be used to have coaches that don't teach. Usually those are reserved for coordinator type coaches others may be assigned as cafeteria monitors etc to avoid teaching as well.

It's state law that the Principal has to be the highest paid. So we aren't getting the full story. Now there's some districts out there that gave the Principal a $1 higher salary to be within what was legal but there's no way it's accurate Kitna negotiated some absurd amount like is being insinuated.

Most HCs are either listed as Campus ADs or at smaller schools as the District AD with zero classes.. with most having a Adm. Asst.

Assts usually have a light class load with Athletic periods accounting for 2 of those 4 classes.

The days of a HC in the classroom have been gone for a long time.

I'm not following how that makes him scum. He negotiated a job contract for himself, and some of his coaching staff. He was upfront with some non-negotiables when Supt. offered him the job. Supt. and the Board worked it out and made it happen. Pretty common in many high profile Texas HS football HC hires.

Back to the kid, sounds like he had or shared pictures on a social platform of a adult having sex with a prepubescent minor. He also had several other images on his phone that he had downloaded some time ago. From the most current ESPN article is sounds like the investigation was started in June. When you piece it all together it does not present a pretty picture of this kid. I mean most normal people would be repulsed by those types of pictures, sounds like this dude was seeking them out and sharing. This is going to be interesting.

Appeared in court via video conference while his parents were in court, article says he was sobbing into his hands. Nobody wants to jump to conclusion but the more I hear about this the more "scum" seems like the right descriptor.

I worked at the Cowboys Golf Club back when Kitna was a back up on the Cowboys. All of the players could come play for free, but usually only a few of the bench warmers would come out one day a week to play. Kitna was always there getting his free round in. Strange dude and didn't tip.

Stephen McGee came out a few times while he was on the team too. He was a super nice guy.
