OFFS. It wasn't Dickey's offense. Have you not been paying attention for the last 5 years?

Of course there were changes. We had multiple 2 back sets, which we hardly ever ran throughout the year and we had multiple 2 TE sets, which we hardly ever ran throughout the year. The LSU defense had to be confused because the tape they watched all week was completely different than what they were seeing on the field that night.

Dickey is not the fall guy and no one from the program will point to him as being the fault. He was not hired to call plays. Jimbo will hire one with intentions for them to call plays. Dickey was odd man out. Now go sit down with your mickey mouse comments.

Go look at the game notes. That change for Coley happened when they had several re-assignments and title changes. Some of those title changes happened to retain some of the highly sought assistants.

I think that's too simple. Jimbo is trying to do 100 things at once and doing none of the well. When he had an experienced Mond running the offense it was better. With all these young players running around, it was a nightmare. And part of the reason we have nothing but freshman running around is because of attrition. We can run down this rabbit hole a ways, but ultimately Jimbo focusing so much of his time on the offensive game plan during the week calling plays during the game harms other vital parts of the program.

He needs to do what every successful leader does: delegate.

I actually agree with you 100%. I was simply saying it's not so much who is calling the plays, but rather the playbook from which the plays that are being called. There's a big difference.

This is nothing more than going through the motions of what will eventually be the firing of Jimbo. Did anything change when Spavital was fired and Mazzone hired? Did anything change when Snyder was fired and Chavis was hired? Did anything change when Torbush was fired and Darnell was hired? Does anyone seriously think anything is magically going to change under Jimbo who by all appearances seems to be more stubborn and arrogant than Fran or Sumlin ever were? Replacing coordinators is the first step in Fisher's firing. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I think installing a new offense is far more important. Jimbo has a reputation as a great play caller. Is offense has been solved and is not QB friendly.

He needs a qb friendly offense that can be installed in an off-season+.

Dickey's BBQ sucks and so did Jimbo's offense without all future NFL players.

Good news is this likely means a new O-line coach as well.

hopefully the BMAs also gave Jimbo marching orders to play the portal and do what it takes to retain key talent. IF that can happen, I could see us having a yUgE 2023 comeback

My gut feeling is that Jimbo is just going to hire another yes man and jimbo retains control of the playcalling

Part of me also thinks that Jimbo will use the LSU game as the "proof" he needs that the offense he designed works and not change anything

Shocked to see Brent Z complaining about his lack of access.

That's what I meant in another thread about him being an old school print beat reporter - world revolves around access. Get a quote from a source, and then frame it. When in reality, there are lots of other ways for reporters to research a subject, generate content and analysis besides quotes from inside sources. I don't know how old he is, but he reminds me of some other old Sam Houston State guys I've known. They get pissy when they feel shut out.
