l saw Bama fans doing the horns down hand sign in the Iron Bowl on TV.

It's just dumb. Why bring attention to another program?

Agreed. Promote your own school, don't whine about another when you aren't even playing them.

Howns down was documented early on as an OU dig when being on tv. Many OU videos show this in early 80s. Seems like when other schools do it it is a poser move. Just say'n the truth.

Little smart azz told me that if he was going to be singing songs about the University of Texas then he might as well be going there.

Yes it does. You may think that but it does piss them off.dixichkn said:Quote:

Yeah well, here's the thing…….. It doesn't. In fact quite the opposite. They laugh at your obsession with them. It's pathetic and takes the whole little brother attitude to another level. Just because Tom Herman got his little panties twisted up in a knot about it, don't get the notion that sips in general do. They're rent free in your heads and they know it. Why feed their already enormous egos?
I swear, a stranger watching the Jumbotron at the games would think we're all attending the University of Horns Down. How about showing a little support for YOUR school instead of proving your obsession with someone else's?
Well let's be fair…….none of them have a hand sign.Ag Tag said:
I don't think any other SEC school does anything like horns down for their opponents or rivals.

Yeah, you're at home playing the #5 team in the nation and you let them know you are thinking about them.
You got 'em!
Some of you need to care more about supporting your own team rather than caring what "some team you don't care about" is doing.

I'm pretty sure tu fans and the rest of the country know what we're thinking about when singing goodbye to texas university while sawing them off in the stands 4 times during the game.
Why do you care so much what other people do? You seem strangely invested in this.Proposition Joe said:GQTEXASAGGIE said:Proposition Joe said:

Yet no one is interested in changing the War Hymm because it's actually steeped in tradition.
A bunch of dorks doing a horns down on television while we're playing a team completely unrelated to the horns is not.
Singing about tu gets a pass because we've already done it for decades? Got it. Both the horns down and sawing'em off send the same message. Why not just embrace both instead of calling fellow Aggies dorks? That's my perspective anyway.Proposition Joe said:GQTEXASAGGIE said:Proposition Joe said:

Actually there are a lot of ags that want us to sing both parts of the war hymn instead of just the references to tu.
This is in a game against tu in Austin, Appropriate. Very appropriate. During a game vs Sam Houston or lsu or Arkansas. weirdPro Sandy said:

Your logic:
Singing about your ex multiple times a game at EVERY sporting event is ok, but don't you dare flip her off. Because THAT is obsessive.
Thanks for clarifying.

Dude why do you keep going on about the War Hymn? It's not the same, as much as you want it to be. MANY schools have fight songs about their rivals. No one cares or even notices that because it's commonplace in CFB.
College football fans DO notice fans throwing horns down every two minutes during a game that doesn't involve texas. A top #5 LSU team actually. This is the embarrassing part, and like someone else said I'm sure the sips actually love it some of y'all are that obsessed with them still.
