I agree it's a little stupid when you aren't playing them, but also is displaying a universal disdain for that school. They act like they don't care about us, but why have I seen so many sip post and trolls. They hate little brother grew up, got rich, and has surpassed them. I don't think there's anything wrong with embracing the history and the traditions of the school.

You don't need to burn down the house that you and your ex-girlfriend lived in together, but that doesn't mean you should bring her up every chance you get.

But, there's still people out there foolish enough to believe it really drives the horns crazy. Does a thumbs down get you riled up? Yeah, a horns down doesn't get them riled up either.

But as others have said, you can't stop people from doing it. But the same goes for people calling them dorks more invested in their "rival" school than their own.

You are looking at this not from a low-vibe "passion" perspective, but from a sober, honest perspective. And you are right.

Maybe not the t-shirt knuckle draggers, but the real sips love the hell out of it. Especially in games where tu is not even involved. It's like a flat-out little brother admission when schools have nothing better to express but just "unsalute" the horns.

It's pathetic, and for Texas A&M to fall to that level is pedestrian and embarrassing. We used to walk on a higher plane.

I guess it's the 70k student population. We can't hang on to what made us Texas A&M. As early as 10 years from now, A&M will be indistinguishable from OU, LSU or any other commonplace, no-tradition generic school.

You really wanna know what sips love? That they haven't been in the same conference as us in 10 years but we will sing about them at every sporting event, regardless of who we are playing.

The reality is that 99% of all traditions at A&M are pro A&M. If there are a couple of things that throw jabs at our rival, I'm ok with it.

And you are right about them not being the same. The hand gesture is very minor. The Aggie War hymn rocks.

College football fans notice a lot more than the horns down. And they have for decades. I'm tired of being asked why our school song is all about tu. If you are concerned about appearance, the horns down is the least of your concern.
