Aggie football is too often the best looking mule in the Kentucky Derby.

So manage expectations for next year. Because if we hold on to most of the class and continue to trust in Jimbo we are making the 12 team playoff in the 2024-25 season. And we should routinely make the 12 team playoff every 3 or 4 years from here on out.
I've been hearing that ever since I was a freshman.
Aggies have been hearing it since WWII unfortunately.
I don't go back that far, but conversing with Ags whom graduated in the '60's here at the Zoo... this is the song that doesn't end...

Serious dialogue here and then a grammar nazi shows up. So typical. School must be off….

I would just like to say. IDGAF about LSU being lucky this season.
It relates to us <<<<<<<<<3%
Damn, the pumpers are really down bad right now. Also, OP doesn't even realize the 12 team playoff isn't a thing yet for the 2024 season.PascalsWager said:
The most unfair thing we've done this year is thrust the 2021 recruiting class into unreachable expectations.
That consequences of failed expectations is, bizarrely, higher expectations next season. Again unfair for redshirt freshmen.
Great growth and some returning to the mean with luck gets you to 8-5. Many things go right and we get to 9-4 next year. Expecting anything more than that is unreasonable. Consider this year 0 and the 2023-24 season year 1.
Programs and coaches can win in year 1 now. But they're ONLY doing so by abusing the transfer portal. There is weird idea thrown around Texags that we failed in the portal. Or that we need to get better at the portal. Its our FUNDAMENTAL team building philosophy to not use the portal unless is serves our high school recruiting (like Max).

A week before that, and he had us winning out and going 10-3:PascalsWager said:
This is wildly underrated career so far. Those Winston-less seasons at FSU were really strong and not talked about. 2023 has to be a year where you're in the mix for top 12. And Jimbo will actually be here for the real 12 team playoff so we'll see. I would guess we'll be in it more often than not.
To be fair, he had his most sensible take the week after the App St loss:PascalsWager said:
9-3 ~#17 A&M goes to the citrus bowl and crushes a top 15 NC State, UNC, or Florida State. Doesn't matter who it is. Our freshman have no reason or excuse to sit out the bowl game.
10-3. We can't be arrogant enough to sneeze at a 10 win season here yet. We're not Auburn or Michigan State living througth these boom/bust cycles randomly going from 8-5 to playoff to 3-9 and coach firing in 4 years. We want to STACK 10 win seasons. That is the mark of sustained excellence and what Jimbo was hired for.
We're DONE losing. Get on the bandwagon now boys. This was always a 10-3 team but our schedule handed us our losses early. But this way we end on high note and go into 2023 with huge hype.

4-2 is much more likely than 1-5.
3-3 seems the most likely outcome.
Even 5-1 is more likely than 1-5.
If we lose 5 games in a row the team is lost. And we're looking at a SEVEN YEAR lame duck coach. Just the thought makes me shudder.
He is building a monster there in his first year and he will probably have another Heisman Trophy QB this year .EllisCoAg said:
Don't leave out what Riley has done at USCw from 4 wins to knocking on the playoffs door.
I know PAC12 but still impressive
