Some of you guys are ridiculous. Jimbos not going anywhere, and he shouldn't. This ship will get righted. Too much talent, too much money, and Jimbo knows how to coach. You don't accidently win a natty and conference championships. Tough times make strong men.

This is what delusional looks like.

I'd say it is what homerism looks like…

buyout doesn't really matter, it's a sunk cost.

ROI is what's important and although I don't lime jimbo as a coach, right now there doesn't seem to be a realistic option B.

Tonight's team at least had potential. We'll see what jimbo does with it, but until we have a couple of miserable seasons and recruiting starts dropping off, IMO not much is going to happen, except personnel changes.

Only other thing that could change, is if revenue starts a big drop off. I don't see that with 100,000 plus fans in Kyle and SEC money.

Actually you can and it appears that's what he did at FSU.

Those who want to fire Jimbo and pay have no proposal for the next hire. Jimbo needs to be told to adapt or his legacy is trash.

The root of the problem is freshmen. Why did this happen after 5 years. Not having seasoned players in the OL and DL is the source of the problem. Freshmen get hurt and do not make good decisions.

" Too much talent, too much money, and Jimbo knows how to coach."

Does he know how to coach? We can agree on the first two. But the first two probably don't change with a new coach.

Hire an unknown high school coach with a winning record for Jimbos job, assign Jimbo to teach six sections of PE 101 "Intoduction to Football" and see if he hangs around.

I do understand business. And paying 86 MM to lose is a horrible return.

Most businesses will declare bankruptcy or sell off their assets and hire new management.

So that's what smart business people do.

Market is down 25% this year, not as much buyout and NIL money floating around.

Personally I am about as apathetic as I have ever been about this program and think that the school should have to live with its mistakes instead of having BMAs bail them out yet again. There is a certain moral hazard that leads the school to grant these contract extensions expecting BMAs to cover if things go south and that has to end.

here's the problem...

if too many of the ballyhooed recruiting class hit the transfer portal...

gonna be a lot of freshmen next year too

I don't care how much money I had. There's no way in the world I would shell out a few million -- or more -- to get some coach to leave town.

I might spend it to help hire someone. But we've seen how that works out, too.

I hope that JImbo cleans house in the offseason. The only coaches that should be retained are Price and Robinson. Move Coley back to TEs coach. Release Craig and hopefully Dickey retires, and Fisher brings in an up-and-coming OC. I doubt any of that happens though. Fisher can basically tell everyone to pound sand.

There actually is a Plan B and that is release Fisher and hire one of the best high school coaches in Texas or an outstanding FCS coach for cheap until the buyout is paid. It has worked before and at least you don't have a dead man walking for the next few years. I don't see how that could be worse. These guys that want some NFL retread or a guy that runs some old NFL pro-style offense need to come to grips.

Look at 2023, we now have our QB, an OL that will absolutely be better, an amazing defense. The future is bright, we just have to take our lumps this year, Jimbo bet on the wrong horses and now everyone knows it.
If CW played the entire year there is no doubt in my mind that we would only have 2 losses at this time. It's a completely different offense with CW, the skeleton crew OL actually played well considering 3 of the 5 starters are out.
Patience! It's coming next year. Those fools who want to pay out 86 million will not look so good next year.. Jimbo will give up calling the plays, we will likely see a new OC and OL coach at the very minimum. Chill!

Lol.

Too many people getting ahead of themselves. This young team with CW under center is going to get better. A lot of SEC West teams are going to be where we are this season... young. Next season, we win 9 or 10. 2024 is likely our year for a real CFP run. Sit tight and let's just watch our coach and team get us where we all want to be.

I think we hire an OC. Let Jimbo be the "QB guy" or whatever. We avoid the pay out and actually might be better offensively.
Agree with the OC part. But keep Jimbo away from any part of the offense. Let him prowl the sidelines holding 300 sheets of laminated paper and be the recruiting coordinator.

The guys who came up with the contract and selected Jimbo should be the ones who should have to pay it.
Well, Scott Woodward no longer works here, and Ross Bjork and John Sharp make like $2M/yr combined.

So…where does your uneducated brain think $86M is coming from?
Where did (or will) the $100 million for the "diversity issues" come from?

We need to see more than one start before we declare Weigman the latest Messiah (remember when Johnson and King were both acclaimed as such).

Also, it took Jimbo five years to create this situation, so why does anyone think he can correct it in less than one?

Or…..

we could learn from some of the teams that are beating us, and fill our needs with experienced transfers.

The landscape has changed. Ole Miss and Tennessee have illustrated what can be done.
