"These players truly love their school." Quite different than the rest of the NIL landscape of college football! Can't help but be at least a little envious of the apparent passion and commitment of the Utah football team.

Big win. K Whittingham showed big juevos going for 2. He would probably do very well at a big time program. But once the Mormons get you that's it. It's like the Mafia.

Not saying they don't take advantage of it, but it just doesn't seem that their team is dependent on it.

I swear that I was coming on to post about the second best coach in college football and then I saw this. Yes I was going to write about Kyle Whittingham. The guy does more with less than anyone else.

He has a .636 winning % in the PAC over 11.5 years. That's 8-5 if you're keeping score at home.

Wittingham has feasted on weak teams OOC and in Conference.

57-16 - OOC = 78%
27-13 - MWC = 67%
64-43 - P12 = 60% Winning%

Last year:

W
Weber State

L
BYU
San Diego St
Ohio St (Rose Bowl)

Conf (45-57):
Wins
Wash St (7-6)
USC (4-8)
Az St (8-5)
UCLA (8-4)
Stanford (3-9)
Az (1-11)
Oregon (10-4) - Twice
Colo (4-8)

Yep.

Ags were pretty "in the moment" against Bama last year... but somehow that doesn't count with the zoo.

Lol y'all still don't get it. This wasn't meant to be a Kyle Whittingham coaching or Utah wins or losses thread. All I'm saying is that it's refreshing to see a team truly be in love with their university. I'd argue the "zoo" is mostly made up of the win-at-all-cost types that have thrown out what makes college football truly special. We've sold our souls to the devil and we are reaping the embarrassment that comes with it. Love the Ags, just wish I saw the same passion Utah plays with.

The kids in Arizona and Arizona State probably love their school too. They still don't win a damn thing.

They both have titles in baseball and basketball. We don't have any national titles in any of the 3 mens sports.

Let's FIFY

BYU is truly Mormon. Utah has about a third or more which are. It's the more liberal (for Mormon) school which has a ton of former Mormons. Utah State is non-Mormon.

Your argument is illogical. Harvard has won 12 national championships (1874, 1875, 1890, 1898, 1899, 1901, 1908, 1910, 1912, 1913, 1919, 1920) per the NCAA. Harvard claims seven of those college football national championships. Let's talk about modern era. The Arizona schools can not or will not spend the money to compete for their own conference. That's how it has been for the last 30 years. All of those Arizona wins were before I graduated from college and most were from before I was born. The closest is Arizona In basketball in 1997. We have made a commitment. We're spending and money will equate to championships. This is what it takes now. That is the only option we have. What should we do? Should we stop spending and rely on the love kids have for Aggieland. My kid is a junior and he loves A&M but that love is not going to get it done.

TBF, Urban really envied A&M, calling it one of the top 3 coaching jobs in college football. Before the 2003 game, he took his Utah team to Texas, sequestered them and had them watch The Junction Boys as a team. He also modeled the Mighty Utah Student Section (MUSS-called one of the most vocal fan sections in the country) after A&M student support for their team, standing all game long.

Thanks for the truth.

Jimbo is far superior.

Zoo gets stupid, me included. But just not quite this stupid to desire a PAC coach.

I could care less what Huard said and I seriously question his assertion. Ask Ainias how much he loves his school? Listen to the post game pressers where Coach and the players credit the 12th Man when we play at home.
