Matt is VERY old school. If people don't like Jimbo, they would hate Matt. Very hard nosed. Very run first. Very physical practices, especially defensively. Matt is a no nonsense , tough minded, very sound football coach but not what the folks are wanting as an offensive coordinator here, imo.

Rhule's specialty is Offensive Line. Don't think he enjoyed recruiting. I see him being an NFL position coach and enjoying his money.

When Addazio got to Temple, he demoted Rhule, who had been OC for Al Golden. Addazio was horrible to the Temple players. Year 2 they gave up on Addazio, somehow he gets hired by BC, and Temple hires Rhule to build the program back up.
Sounds like Adazzio is an ashhole and a buffoon...

I would love for it to happen, but I would be shocked if Jimbo hired an OC that ran a different offense. I hope I'm wrong, but I could see him promoting Coley who was an OC at UGA and ran a similar offense with the same results and was fired by Kirby. Coley is a good TE coach and a recruiter, but we probably need a bigger change.

Rhule is an atrocious offensive coach. He is a great defensive coach. Shows you haven't watched many of his teams play.
While we are dreaming, Scott Frost would be an interesting option. Yes, he sucked at Nebraska but I think he was too focused on bringing back the old Nebraska. His offenses at Oregon and UCF were top 5.

1) Helfrich/Kelly made frost. No offense at Oregon was 'his'
2) his 2nd year (the good year) at ucf had a pitiful pitiful schedule and he left right after. His first year they finished 100+ in total offense.
3) he's known by many as a bona-fide *****.
4) his offensive philosophy doesn't seem to be anything close jimbo's

Carolina owes Rhule in excess of $40 million. My guess is he won't be coaching anywhere anytime soon
Rhule is going to have the pick of the litter when it comes to HC jobs in college. No chance he's looking for an OC job

Jimbo is very loyal to his coaches and players. Loyalty is a great trait although it can hurt the good of the whole team at times. There are times loyalty must be forsaken for the good of the organization. Principle: Jimbo's loyalty is more of a benefit to the A&M football program than it is a negative. Trust Jimbo to make the right calls at the right time on coaches and players.

This is a too good to be true hire that would require some luck and a lot of convincing, which Jimbo seems to be great at. Throw some extra titles his way and make this happen!

Phil Snow is the only reason that Rhule made a name for himself. Better have a lot of QBs willing to be punished for playing offense for Matt Rhule for sure.

He is. He was smart enough to hire Phil Snow and turn the defense over to him. Rhule will be job hunting the second he signs a contract with anyone. He'll be around three years tops.

I'm not sure you understand the meaning of "gutsy" enough to use it properly.
Why would Rhule take any OC job when he is going to have multiple HC offers to choose from?
