This is the pre-targeting hit in the 2012 Alabama game that probably ended Swopes' pro career before it started. It's at the 2:35 mark of this video. Danielson had the nerve to initially wonder if the subsequent flag was "taunting" by Swopes.

Cover all receivers.

Why, they never threw the ball here -- pretty easy to understand what they are trying to do here - run the ball

To guarantee a win...beat the ever loving sheet out of MSU on EVERY play. And I mean put a hurting on them!

No more wuss ball. Take it to them and make them hurt.

Targeting. Auto ejection. 2 games.

That one would definitely be red card worthy...

These replies all seem to be about our D against their O. Their DC is all about blitzing! So our O will have to have a helluva plan to counter all of the blitzes that will be thrown our way. It's going to be an interesting game!

Blitz, blitz, and blitz some more. Make QB pay. Hit receivers at line of scrimmage. Do not let them cross.

Take a past look at what Leach has done to teams that consistently try to blitz. It's not pretty for the defense. QB and receivers are trained to recognize the void created by the blitzers. Occasional blitz … ok , but the key is pressuring with your DL,

The key in my opinion is a 4-2-5 with a DL that is pass rush focused and is quick/physical enough to get home with 4. No need for them to read run let the two backers worry about the run. Make them beat you running the ball. In the secondary mix up Man/free looks and zone with it all looking the same presnap so that the QB has to read and react instead of knowing where to go presnap with the ball giving the line an extra shot at making it to the QB.
