That's a game I attended but I honestly don't recall any field rushing after those OT periods. Strangely, I do recall rushing the field after the other games mentioned.

Fun fact: Aggies have never torn down a goalpost after winning a game at Kyle.

Speaking of that, has that happened in a while? I think most of the time security teams surround the goalposts and don't allow that to happen. For a while there the home stadium would gently lower the goalposts to prevent a tearing down.

Here is a fun fact for you.....

I believe it was the TU game in 1995 (only game I could find in my college years where Texas beat us at home) and Texas won with some late game heroics. As the game clock was winding down the Texas section began moving down towards the bottom of the bleachers at Kyle Field. The PA announcer repeatedly announced that Kyle Field was a memorial and it was not to be "rushed" or entered. Texas fans didn't seam to care and as the clock ticked down they continued moving towards the field. The Corp began lining up along the edges of the bleachers arm to arm to protect the field. Needless to say that didn't work as the Texas fans stormed the field once the clock expired and all Hell ensued.

In the few times we have rushed our own Kyle Field, did the announcer make the same announcement?

I was on the field that game w/a Letterman's pass. In those days fans were allowed on the field post game. So there wasn't a "rush" onto the field.

I've seen many games where the corps storms the field, tackles the yell leaders, then carries them out of the stadium to do who-knows-what secret awful things to them.

Greg Hood stormed the field in 1980 - probably not what you're thinking of though.

The tackling of the yell leaders has really gotten soft compared to when I was in school. The yell leaders used to try to evade the tackle, and would inevitably get completely laid out when finally caught and then dog piled. Now it looks like they mostly stand still and wait to get surrounded and hoisted up.

I was there and a fan standing next to me told us what SMU cheerleaders were going to try to do, which was to lay down and spell S and then M and then U.
The infamous picture of the cadet with the saber raised high was the result of him being pushed back very forcefully. Very bad optics of course.

. I guess Nebraska too, I don't recall the rush of the field but I was in the North end zone 3rd deck so maybe I just dont remember. I wanted to rush when we beat OU in 2002, but we didn't

You know exactly what we mean, there are only 3 games that have looked like this after the game....definition of fans rushing the field.

Nebraska 2010

LSU 2018

Alabama 2021

I remember rushing the basketball court at Reed Arena in 2007 after the Aggies beat Kansas in Lawrence. It was really weird running onto a court with no basketball teams playing and only maybe 300 people in the crowd watching the TVs in the arena... Kind of lame, but we thought we were cool...

It's weird how wearing cowboy hats into football games have recently become very popular.
