I hate it. It's dumb. It makes what should be a great game between two rivals not feel collegiate.
Link? I can't find anything online saying we agreed to that - everything I see, even during the COVID situation, says 2024 is the last year.20ag07 said:

No extension in 2020. We were allowed to play that as a home game and Arkansas stayed in Arlington in 2021. Not like 2012-2013. Was announced at the time.20ag07 said:

I dont love it or hate it, but will be nice to get it back at Kyle. One thing you have to admit, that game at jerryworld has had more than its share of exciting close finishes in its relatively short run, and has been well attended.

I remember very well the TAMU president (name withheld) went to Dallas to end it but came back with hat in hand and somehow gave in to another extension.

Thats the correct term length but doesn't include a 2020 update.wbt5845 said:

I absolutely hate it and it truly was a stab in the back of our local community.
It can't be viewed any other way.
A&M needs no money from Jerry. None. It would be dirty in many ways. And A&M has plenty of money coming in.
Anyone truly know how much we get per year?

When it was first started and we were indifferent conferences, it was a great neutral site game that gave us a game in DFW for recruiting….
It wasnt a bad game until we started choking them away with Sherman at the helm. We have 2 more games there, the end is in site.
I agree, but, to be fair, Jerry had us over a barrel. We really needed that 7th home game in 2012. Essentially, we decided that it would be better for all concerned to have 4 more games in Jerry World than only have 6 home games in 2012, and that decision had a lot to do with local businesses and hotels, etc. Jerry would've gotten more but we were not going to agree to any more than 4.Houstonag said:

Horrible decision and was a stab in the back to alumni, BCS businesses, and students. All under the guise of Jerry giving the 12th man some money. Well Jerry profited and and the aforementioned lists of Ags got handed the invoice.
This. 2020 was a force majeure event -- we couldn't sell tickets as contemplated under the contract due to covid restrictions, so we simply were given a pass to play elsewhere, and were lucky that we were the home team that year.greg.w.h said:No extension in 2020. Bjork has since confirmed the 2024 game as last year. No, I don't have a link.
Actually, we had just 6 home games in 2012, even with that Arkansas game at Kyle Field, because we played 2 nonconference games on the road: SMU and Louisiana Tech. The Agly Duckling said:I agree, but, to be fair, Jerry had us over a barrel. He's too smart of a businessman not to do so. But having grumbling, complaining partners also isn't his expectation. I'm pretty sure he'll declare victory regardless!!!MB19 said:
My concern is if Jerry makes an "offer you can't refuse".......
