I hate it. It's dumb. It makes what should be a great game between two rivals not feel collegiate.

I think when Texas and OU join the SEC
Next year is the last game there
This year will be our 11th game in Arlington vs. Pig. We originally had a 10-game agreement, but Jerry negotiated another 4 when we needed another home game in 2012 when joining the league, plus the return trip to Pig in 2013. Therefore, it looks like we'll have 3 more years in Arlington before it goes back to on-campus, which would make 2025 the last game there.
And yep, that sucks.

2025 is supposed to be the last year in Jerryworld.
I remember very well the TAMU president (name withheld) went to Dallas to end it but came back with hat in hand and somehow gave in to another extension. Horrible decision and was a stab in the back to alumni, BCS businesses, and students. All under the guise of Jerry giving the 12th man some money. Well Jerry profited and and the aforementioned lists of Ags got handed the invoice.
Extended one more due to COVID.

No extension in 2020. We were allowed to play that as a home game and Arkansas stayed in Arlington in 2021. Not like 2012-2013. Was announced at the time.20ag07 said:

I'm not sure we would have won all those close games if half were in NWA. Its a semi home game for us (although a lot of Arky fans can make it to Arlington). Seems like the location has been a slight positive for us.
Did it pay off recruiting the Dallas metroplex for the time of the contract? That was one of the initial reasons for agreeing to it. Wonder how many recruits the piggies got in comparison.

My concern is if Jerry makes an "offer you can't refuse".......
Since joining the SEC, we're 6-1 in Arlington. The only way Arkansas can beat us is by injury, or playing in Fayetteville. Seems like Arlington has worked out pretty well.

When it was first started and we were indifferent conferences, it was a great neutral site game that gave us a game in DFW for recruiting, a game in Jerryworld (when the RRSO was still in the old state fair stadium) and we were getting more money from the game than either tu or ou got from the RRSO.
It wasnt a bad game until we started choking them away with Sherman at the helm. We have 2 more games there, the end is in site.
I love it. It's no Kyle field but the atmosphere is good.

Huh????!!! The series there STARTED with Sherman. We had a rough first game, then two close ones that showed we were getting SEC ready. you make it sound like we used to play there and win until Sherman came around. weird take.
I agree, but, to be fair, Jerry had us over a barrel. We really needed that 7th home game in 2012. Essentially, we decided that it would be better for all concerned to have 4 more games in Jerry World than only have 6 home games in 2012, and that decision had a lot to do with local businesses and hotels, etc. Jerry would've gotten more but we were not going to agree to any more than 4.Houstonag said:

This. 2020 was a force majeure event -- we couldn't sell tickets as contemplated under the contract due to covid restrictions, so we simply were given a pass to play elsewhere, and were lucky that we were the home team that year.greg.w.h said:No extension in 2020. Can't get here fast enough. Kyle field is much nicer than Jerry's place.

I can't wait for this dumb arrangement to end either. I believe 2024 is the last year we will play Arkansas at Jerry World. In 2025, we are scheduled to play at Fayetteville.

In every even year, except 2020, we only get to play 3 SEC games at Kyle Field: Ole Miss, LSU, and the rotating cross-division opponent. Like most SEC teams, we should play 4 home SEC games every year.

Not sure I want to play against Piggie in Arkansas. They play that stupid "bus backing up" beep every time the opponent gets a penalty. Almost as annoying as LSU band dissonance.
He's too smart of a businessman not to do so. But having grumbling, complaining partners also isn't his expectation. I'm pretty sure he'll declare victory regardless!!!MB19 said:
