ESPN replayed last years A&M-LSU game yesterday. I looked at that game with a different set of eyes this time; primarily looked at Max Johnson QB play. I was pretty impressed with him, especially with all of the sacks he took. He was good at surveying the entire field on certain passes, looking for other receivers . I would not be surprised to see him named as our starter. I'm just not convinced Haynes should be the one, based on what I have seen.

That's not a game at all if we could've fielded a serviceable QB ourselves

Calzada was beat to a pulp going into LSU game.

Still don't know how we managed to lose that one.

Easy. We abandoned the run and ball control offense, and decided to pass on every down.

Elko went safe and Jaylon Jones had a bad series on the last drive. That's ultimately what did it.

That and the refs just flat missing the strip. And our mediocre offense. And starting poorly on defense AGAIN giving up a weak ass TD right before the half.

I'd say that has .00000001% chance of happening.

This was a bad, bad LSU team...If you're gonna win in BR, last year was it. Their fans had quit on the team and just wanted to get the loss out of the way and look forward to next season. They wanted nothing to do with a bowl game.

It's games like these that make me scratch my head. I do think our limitation at qb really hurt us. That linebacker of theirs was all over the place. That happens when you don't have to give a seconds thought to the pass.

The last "stand" on defense is inexcusable.

As good as the Alabama win was, I'd say the LSU loss was equally bad. Even with marginal QB play, you have to find a way to win that game. 9-3 with a win over Alabama feels a lot different than 8-4. That loss was inexcusable. Jimbo can't have those kinds of losses anymore.

This is bullcrap. Our QB was 'serviceable'. We could have ran the ball down their throats and won the game easily. But our offensive play calling is suspect.

But we really weren't, Spiller couldn't get going, and Achane really wasn't going either. Less than 100 combined. Damone Clark was all over the place, we couldn't block him.

That was our worst lost last season. We should have won that game. LSU was not that good.

I dunno. Like in the Ole Miss game it felt like our running game was finally getting going towards the end but was in both completely abandoned right when victory seemed possible.

That weak ass TD before half made me wonder if Antonio Johnson was playing injured in that game. He had a chance to make the tackle before the play had gone 10 yards and completely whiffed on the guy. It was a real WTF moment. Overall, he went mostly unnoticed that game. I thought it was one of his worst games which is why I wonder about him maybe being injured.

The offense wasn't good, by any stretch, but ultimately it came down to a 4 point lead and LSU pinned inside their own 20 under 2 mins.

The prevent defense let us down and Johnson made some big time throws.

The rushing offense was averaging 3 yards per carry. Wanna try again?

Well first we recovered the game sealing fumble and the refs indiscriminately decided to take it away. Then the ref decided that putting both hands on the db and pushing him away from you to create space is not offensive pass interference.

That's how we lost that one Charlie Brown…

It's on Jimbo that we lost that game. Call a spade a spade. No one is wants to hear that because of what it means for the future but it's true.

Yep. Jimbo definitely does not subscribe to the theory that you keep running it until they prove they can stop it.

He seems to be enamored of balance, which is a good thing, but is silly when they simply can't stop the run.
