Speaking of QB competitions, has Jimbo said who he's leaning to yet? I assume it's gonna be Haynes King, but in the practice photos I've seen he still looks super skinny. They list him at 205, but he sure doesn't look it. Just wondering if he can hold up for a full season. He's got all the rest of the tools. Hopefully he's durable too.

Don't ask us, find A&M's Sports Information Director. That's who will know about the starting QB.

Jimbo's holding it pretty close to the vest. Smart move. I called the SID and he told me to check Texags. 3D chess is in full effect.

QE was supposed to grad with my son's class in 2021, but he got held back around 6th grade. He's been a known commodity around Southlake for years. You are right about the 10lbs, and up until his junior year (should have been college freshman) those 10lbs made a huge difference. Especially in the DYF and middle school years where he got his rep as a standout QB. Being 10lbs heavier and a year older at those ages is a huge advantage. Now everyone's caught up to his size and there is a reason no one in Southlake cared when he walked away from his team as a senior or why he couldn't crack QB3 @ OSU. He's just an average talent with an ego that still thrives on his middle school glory!

Good, bad or indifferent, Ewers is the right choice. He's more talented, more confident, a better leader, and plays QB more like Sark prefers than Card. It's easy to bag on him because of his haircut, but he's also an 18 year old kid. I know a lot of those with dumb haircuts.

He might play lights out and prove he's the 5* he was rated to be, he might stink, or he might develop over time into a very good to great college QB. Who knows. But at this point in time, he's the right choice.

Better to put the younger, more talented and more confident QB on the field running an offense designed for Bijan Robinson, Roschon Johnson, Xavier Worthy and Keilan Robinson and let him develop than playing the older less talented less confident QB in the same offense that tends to draw back into his shell when things go sideways.

Where in the world did you get this info? From Geoff? Ewers hasn't played in a live game in what 2 seasons? A better leader wouldn't be in the Buckeye dressing room flaunting his NIL vehicle contracts. He was 4th string up there. But go ahead and anoint him, Ewers is going to be as good as his OL is, and that's yet to be seen. Oh yeah your best lineman went down against a tackling dummy last week, let that sink in.

I've got a few sources I rely on. I've followed Texas football pretty closely for about 45 years. However, Geoff Ketchum is not one of them. I feel confident in my assessment though, although I could be wrong. It's happened before. As for the OL, losing Angilau absolutely hurts. Hopefully his freshman replacement comes up to speed quickly. Texas definitely has some challenges to overcome this year.

They definitely need to win some games for sure. Until they can compete for a national championship, they're just another team. For the last 12 years they've been an average to below average team in the B12. If they don't improve steadily they'll be a below average team in the SEC. I'd hate to see that happen.

bro, please stick around all season. Hope is not a strategy, Ewers quit on his HS team, quit on his tOSU team and was clearly the dog of the group this fall. He is the love child of uncle rico and jeff george and it is going to be glorious to watch this burn to the ground

I'll stick around and learn from all that came from it. As for Ewers, that's certainly possible but I sure hope not. And here's hoping that no matter which young man earns the job for the Aggies, he'll have a successful season.

Yeah i don't get it. Not sure there is another fan site forum in CFB with this much interest in another team's stating QB.
And they aren't even an opponent…

Not quite as obsessive as making an account to post on another team's fan site that is not even one of your opponents.

OrangeBloods is terrible. Just an awful awful site. And although 8-4 is better than 5-7, they better win more than that if they want to be considered an elite team again. I'm sure it will take some time though.
