Because historically we've been the underdog in our gameday games

The only gameday win when hosting games that I can recall was vs Tennessee under sumlin

I think we were actually favored in that one or it was a really small spread either way or even a pickem

Point is, whenever we've hosted gameday we've usually been a substantial underdog

My bet is this one will be at an FCS or HBCU game.

Hampton @ Norfolk State (best FCS game at an HBCU campus)
Grambling and Jackson St (biggest draw - Coach Prime)
Texas Southern at Southern - Globe Life Field (Cool venue - biggest rivalry)

ESPN always takes a week or 2 for the smaller schools and Week 3 might be the best week to do it.

Does not hurt that the ESPN game is on ESPN. I think that is why they chose the A&M at Ole Miss game. The OU at Nebraska game will be the Big Noon game on FOX. Can't see Game Day promoting a FOX game 2 weeks in a row.

They have maybe done that once or twice, it's not something they always do
