Mapped out the whole steam tunnel system down there. Actually wound up in the Commons cafeteria store room once. I didn't take anything, but my brother who was visiting stole a 20 pound can of cheese whiz and got really sick when he ate it. Poetic justice…

Checkin in as well. Used to go in near Heldenfels. Went through most of the quad and a large portion of the south side of campus. Saw some pretty cool artwork.

Edit: I think I still have my map in my old footlocker.

I've been in a hot and steamy tunnel. Does that count?

Havent been in the steam tunnels, but did make tunnels under the Commons cafeteria one Christmas break.

Late April evening 1970, the big no/no on campus is fireworks. What caused that is lost in the mists of time. Happy Happy Herrington goes dark, CT's in the steam tunnel. Quad goes dark, non-regs in the steam tunnel, campus goes dark, teasips in the steam tunnel, College Station goes dark, Russians in the steam tunnel.

Ten minutes later the quad looked like the 4th of July on steroids and here come the campus cops. High point of the evening was when (name withheld to protect the guilty) fires off a green smoke bomb in a cop car. Good Times.

Is this off the record? If so, I think most fish in redass Corps outfits have been. I'm not sure if it was a big deal to non-regs but we definitely got challenged by upperclassmen to see if we would do it.

Went in near the MSC. Almost got pissed on by a drunk nonreg as we were crawling out below the grate lol. Glad to see the history down there before I graduated.

I went in the steam tunnels my senior year. Entered from the kitchen in Duncan & walked all the way down to the arches. Lots of neat art work to see along the way. The biggest surprise to me was actually Duncan having a basement that extended to almost the bugle stand in front of dorm 10.

My fish year in the Spring of 1980.

Yes. Entered from outside of Sbisa. Past the central plant, then south along a long stretch that took us into the bowels of Rudder complex. Came up in a storage closet in G. Rollie White that had a window looking out toward the MSC. Retraced our path back out. As someone said, a rite of passage.
