This is one of their inherent disadvantages in terms of facilities.

If they walk, it takes 10 - 15 minutes each way. That's 20-30 minutes of each practice time that would be gone, and over an entire year that's a LOT of time. I think that's why they've been practicing a lot at DKR because that time is saved, and it's advantageous to have that field be artificial because of all of that extra wear and tear. They save some time bussing, but it's still not as sweet as our arrangement.

Every little bit helps. And, they have to have several busses which probably takes even more time.

The more practice time they lose, the better.

Recording on the bus ride back:

That was part of Earl's degree plan. I think they also brought back Ricky Williams to assist with their SEC drug testing administration plan. Good on them for hiring their old players.

I lived in Austin for 25 years. The cushy bus ride from one block away started with Mack Brown. I believe this happened after they won against USC as part of entitlement. Also, he did this because players were late to practice. This helped usher in the sense of entitlement and produced a soft mentality.

Cholie Strong got rid of the buses and made the players walk to bring back the lunch-pale mentality. At this point, entitlement was too far gone. This is when the Cholie began to lose the locker room.

The rest is history. Mediocrity.
