The most consistent thing about TexAgs is the incredible number of professional college scouts who post here and can immediately gauge the future success of a player who absolutely zero of them have ever seen playing in person.

I don't know how good Arch is but I do find it fascinating the horns just paid up for Ewers and now want to pay up for another QB. Tells me they either already regret Ewers OR they are too stupid to invest that NIL cash in a defense.

I'm convinced if his last name wasn't Manning, he'd be a 3 star recruit. The fact that 24/7 has him as a perfect 1.000 recruit is laughable.

He has regressed each year in HS according to his stats. Not sure what the talent level on that team is and could have something to do with it.

Agree with others that his name is primary factor in his ranking.

Is Div III the top level in high school football in Lousisana? Just curious what level of competition Arch is facing.

I'm not saying he is bad. I am saying that is the worst HS team defense I've ever seen. This is staggering considering how many elite players there are in LA. It's almost Washington Generals level bad.

Cool. His QB rating for the season was 105.8. For comparison, Zach Calzada, who caught so much grief from our fans that he had some suggestions on something some of our fans could suck, had a QB rating of 123.7. So anyway his season stats aren't much to write home about either.

#1 recruit in the nation, offensive players should NEVER have a bad game in high school. Sorry. They SHOULD be so much better than 99% of guys on that field regardless of classification that it doesn't matter. Obviously a QB needs some help, but if you are supposed to be that good you definitely shouldn't lose a high school game by 42 points.

Watching some tape on him...I have no clue since most of the teams they play are horrible. He has a good bloodline and surely has had some good coaching. Yeah he played at the same school but how good were the teams back then? I am not saying he will be good or bad but he will have a learning curve that will likely make him sit a year.

Compare him to Weigman, when he played they were always in the game. When he didn't they would lose.

Tyrone Swoopes was a 5 star recruit and went 1-9 his senior year. Then went on to have a very forgettable career at TU.

Good thing our coaches won't base their game prep off of one game when we welcome him to the SEC. Take off the maroon glasses long enough to see that the kid has talent.

But based on every video I've found of him, it is fair to ask how people consider him the #1 ranked recruit of not just this class, but - based on how some talk about him - the last few decades.

Perhaps, similar to his uncle Peyton, he's not a "wow" player, but just a kid who does everything perfectly textbook, similar to Tim Duncan on the court, but if you watch this kid's entire highlight clip, it is less impressive than the first half of Weigman's first game last year.
