Any guesses as to what time the Sam Houston season opener will kick off at? I went back through recent season openers and they typically have started between 6pm-8pm.

Season opener time release date

There is no usual somebody is going to likely be playing on Thursday and there are a couple f 11 am broadcast windows. , the first 3 kicks are generally announced in June iirc.

UGA/Oregon will most likely be at night, and either Florida/Utah or Arky/Cincinnati probably will be too.

Everyone else is playing creampuffs so it will be a crap shoot for all those games.

i'd guess week 2 vs App State gets the 11a.. 103 degrees scorcher slot

11am would be fine since the peak heat of the day happens around 4-5 pm.

I agree and go with the 5pm or later slot for week 1. I think the only afternoon or early season opener was the UCLA game because it was the 2:30pm CBS game and the 2013 Rice game when Johnny was suspended the first half.

You must have missed the NM state game last year. It was in the 80s/90s at 11am and it felt like 120

I was in lower north end zone seats for that game. Full sun the whole game and nary a cloud in the sky. We got baked.

An 11am scorcher is the hottest of all games.

Will sunburn your ass and kick your ass for the rest of the day, and probably the next two, three days.

No question about that.

2:30 game and you'll feel like you walking around in a wet towel, nuts stuck to your leg and all that. But definitely cooler overall and an 11am.

Mfers get he heat stroke all the time at 11am.

They got triage tents set up to deal with heat casualties at 11am games. Its the norm.

They had to change the rule on how much water you could bring in because of 11am games,

3am. That way it's cool for the first game and afterwards, everyone can go out for breakfast and mimosas!

Emilio… looks like everyone on here realizes how weather works… and yes 11am is the worst for first part of Sept.

Obviously we're extremely bored!!!

Just got my tickets to the game! It'll be my one game of the year I can fly out to. Hoping it's a 5pm or later start time, as we fly in late Friday night.

Highly doubt that. Ball State at Tennessee is already locked into the SEC Network at 6pm central Thursday night. Unless the Sam Houston game is planning on not being on tv and regulated to steaming on SEC + only.

They announced several weeks ago.

Missouri plays at ESPN U and West Virginia vs Pitt is probably the big ESPN game Thursday. If our admin wants us on tv, then it won't be Thursday.

We thought we could hang in there to watch the band, but we left before half. It was brutal.

Will be 11am I bet, I don't see it being a night game.

I believe we would be the first SEC on CBS game of the year week 3 correct? I think Alabama at Florida opened the season on CBS last year.

11AM for Sam Houston.

2:30 for App State and 8:00 for Miami
