Looks like we're in a real good position with him as he's made a couple trips to CS already and has a good relationship with our staff. Very impressive highlights!

Keep this kid close to home!
I sold his dad my mustang when he was a junior in high school. He was huge then so I'm guessing this kid still has some growing to do. He was also a very respectful young man.

Both his size and the way he plays remind me a lot of Dak Prescott in college.

Only other player I can remember from Willis was Michael Bishop….KSU QB.

Yea but this kid is a true dual threat QB. Jameis Winston was definitely a traditional pro-style QB.

He is definitely good. Another QB in his grade in his district is better though. Mabrey Mettauer from The Woodlands was district MVP and DJ Lagway was 2nd team.
Mettauer outperformed him significantly head to head when they played. Lagway might look really good at camps or something.

Crazy how neither could even sniff a starting role at Tascosa.
My first thought was Vince…his size helps him on a lot of those runs and pocket escapes. Also the way the ball is flying all over the place when he runs.
Man amongst boys. He is running for his life so much, hard to tell if he has a talented arm or not and is comfortable in the pocket. He certainly has some nasty moves on the run.

I'm a Woodlands guy as well, so I've seen Mabry and Lagway both play multiple times. Both guys are really good. Mabry has an NFL body while Lagway is a bit more athletic (though Mabry is sneaky athletic also). I also think, at this stage of development, Lagway is a little more consistently accurate. As mentioned, he also plays on a team with lots of limitations.

I remember hearing he messed up his leg in a motorcycle crash. Think he played for Baylor.
Yeah, I thought he might've had at least some mention this spring, he's got the qb skills, but apparently not in the mix for any competition
