Sad to see Chappy go, he just got his Aggie ring. Hope our guy can stay healthy and tear it up at his next stop

This is not something I had heard was coming… I expected some WR names to hit the portal, but I really didn't think it'd be Chappy. We've certainly got some young talent in the room though

Does Memorial Hermann have a team?

Maybe other factors contributing to this - personal, etc. But, why transfer? Healthy, he was probably a starter.

2020.

As in 2 seasons ago?

Whelp. There goes our deep threat. Hopefully this means at least one of the new guys is as good as advertised.
Let's go, Brandon!

He's definitely getting less touches than Stewart, Smith, and maybe even Marshall based on his January Allstar game. The 4th WR only gets enough passes if it's a pass-first offense or a balanced team that snaps the ball before 5 seconds on play-clock on average unlike us to date.

Evan Stewart clearly is and more so than Chapman, and Marshall got his 5-star rating after dominating his allstar game.

I have to ask, if Chase Lane isn't a deep threat… is he like a short route threat only? 50/50 balls, he's not coming down with. Muhammad looks slightly better but also needs to always use 2 hands.

We kinda have Chapman to thank for us beating Florida in 2020 given his long contested TD catch, which springboarded us in the rankings and eventually led us to being the #4 team in the nation. Led to a lot of these recruiting victories.

Jimbo's offense is simply not WR3 or WR4 friendly. The volume isn't there.

only enough passes for the WR1 and WR2

With him being so injury prone it is not a bad idea for him to go into a conference that is not as physical.

A deep threat in a system that is averse to throwing downfield.

We had a pretty dynamic QB in 2013.

His injuries haven't come from contact. They could've happened while he was running sprints by himself at night

These guys want to play, that's all that it is about, as much as we want to make it about loyalty. That's our lens, theirs is largely different.

Part of the issue is very much separation. Part of it is QB ability both to process reads and comfort throwing. I think Jimbo does emphasize eye control and turnovers and that leads to a very low volume of "tight" throws. I'm sure he turns on the green light when the QB is more accurate. But we need WRs that can run their routes and get separation for third abs fourth options to draw targets. I'll note that the RB often gets the targets that the WR3 and WR4 didn't. Wonder if that has to do with great burst (Ainias) or world-class speed (Achane)???

Another year of starting over at receiver and qb.

Sort of. But Moose, Evan, Subzero, Yulkeith , plus rotate in Marshall and/or Price

That's the highest ceiling we'll have seen at WR for quite some time. No doubt about it.

How many passes did WR1-4 drop in 2013 vs last year?
Targets haven't necessarily been the problem. Drive ending drops have.

Our WR room has had a "high ceiling" for 4+ years now.

Unfortunately, the elevator has been broken.
Let's go, Brandon!

Good luck to him.

I can't help but wonder if he thinks he's better off at another program or if the staff suggested so. It most likely is a win-win for him and us.
