I haven't seen any news related items regarding if they get to keep it or not…
I would think that there are 15 other schools in the the SEC that would be in opposition…

No. And ESPN will rejoice losing that money-losing boat anchor of a channel.

Does that mean that Greg McElroy will be on the bread & soup line?

So much dislike for that guy.

But will the ESPN broadcast studio remain in Austin?

True statement actually. And nothing has done less for t.u.

But beyond all that, I'm thinking when ESPN folds LHN, we get 2 SEC channels, one for each division.

No wait, I'm serious. Tell me SECw and SECe would not both individually attract more viewers than any other conference network.

Them keeping the longhorn network would require people wanting to watch it which has been lacking.

I have had that thought, too. But I doubt it happens quite like that.

LHN was a 10 year deal. It was done the day that deal expired regardless of the SEC. One of the reason the sips pushed to get into the SEC. They had to find a new funding source.

He works for the SEC Network, not the LHN. Why would this affect him?

Yes, of course they will. Why not? We all voted them and their network in in a totally above board and transparent negotiation and vote. (Sarcasm)

Yes, and here is how it will happen or has already happened. Snakey Sankey meets in secret with Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Fla and LSU and decides what to do on this. It is announced at an opportune time that it is in the best interest of the entire conference that Texas be allowed to continue their network. More money for the conference to split. A unanimous vote approves it.

We need someone in each of the above insider states to file freedom of info requests asking for all records related to the question of allowance of Texas and the LHN into SEC.

Not to quibble, but he works for ESPN. Which division doesn't matter…

Some of the younger folks here are in for a big surprise.

The sips will either be allowed to have their way in this conference, or they will leave of their own accord. What they will not do is stay in a conference that they don't run roughshod over. Believe that.

My guess is they're going to be allowed to do whatever they want to, and the rest of this conference is going to quickly come to understand what a massive self inflicted mistake they've made.

I for one can't wait to say I told you so.

Has to be closer to the SECCG in the cotton bowl stadium every year.

No, they won't, quit being a sheepish lap dog. cow will be told they are as important as Vandy, no more no less. If anyone runs the SEC is it Bama followed by UGA, UT, UF, and LSU. cow, and OU, will be on the same level as aTm and the Miss. schools when they join as far as the importance of their opinion on matters. Regardless, all will have the same vote and cow will not have any undue influence in the SEC.

If they don't like that and want to leave, fine. I do believe the rest of the conference will quickly learn it was a mistake to invite cow, just for the irritant they will become, but what you think will or may happen isn't even remotely possible. The power structure in the SEC lies in the old-guard SEC, and trust me the old-guard SEC would just as soon like to kick aTm, Mizzou, cow and OU out if the meetings, decisions, division/pod, scheduling discussions, etc. got to be too much of a pain in the a** and be quite happy about it. Now, that won't happen due to $$, but that goes back to the above, cow will speak and maybe stomp their feet and wail and smack the table trying to get their way, they will then be told to sit down and be quiet so Vandy or Kentucky can speak and what they have to say will be just as important as what cow thinks or wants.

This ****ing cancer of a program is going to be the end of the SEC as we know it. All you new ass hats who screamed "bring back the game" are gonna find out how they destroy every thing they touch. The "ultimate" party crasher is here and they will destroy every bit of a f any momentum we had. It was fun while it lasted.

I see a scenario maybe a little closer to what Jarrin Jay says…….sips are initially going to come in expecting to run roughshod over the whole conference as they're used to. They're not going to, but I'm about 1000% certain that they WILL get concessions made for them that we never got, or Arkansas, SCe, Mizzou etc. The big dogs in Bristol who forced this whole g**damned deal will see to it. Scheduling breaks, an inordinate amount of primetime exposure, network kissing their ass like they do Bama, etc etc. It won't be some bombastic takeover, but they will get a certain amount of leeway that most member schools won't. That's pretty much a given.

And ultimately I think the conference will see their addition as a mistake. But it won't matter. Daddy ESiPN is calling the shots here.

I look forward to voting with Arkansas, Texas, Mizzou, LSU, OU, and the Mississippi schools to replace Sankey immediately…maybe between Texas and us we can get Vandy, Tennessee, and a Florida to vote with us…

And why would school leadership vote him out? They aren't on "our" side. They like what Sankey is doing.

When this prediction comes to fruition, the serious talks of joining the B1G should be on the table. This type of business relation does not exist in the B1G.

Take one of if not the biggest rival in sports...Ohio State/Michigan. They absolutely hate one another but neither team does the back door bullcrap sip does to negatively affect their rival. 4 is correct in his/her assesment. They will regret this decision within the next 10-15 years.

Cow network is good for the SEC. Another network to feature your school brand on. Increased revenue. It will be fabulous. Thank you Skanky, for having the foresight to get the tsips in the conference so we all can use their network for our benefit!

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

ESPNMoo will go away. As members of the SEC the 3rd tier rights for all of cow and OU will belong to the SECN, despite both being ESPN properties they are separate legal agreements.

Vandy currently makes more $$ from SECN than cow does from cowtv, so it really isn't even a point of discussion.
