I don't see any so-called rivalries in the SEC. Every conference game is a BIG Game! We left the rivalry stuff behind when the SWC dissolved and we moved to the SEC!

And guess what, here come the Sooners and the sips mealy mouthing around jealous of what A&M has got going in the SEC, because they can't keep up in the made to order conference courtesy of Deloss Dodds. They are not even on the schedule and they got their got damn big noses planted in our ass! Fck'em!

In all my years in business, I never met a baylol grad who was successful unless daddy made him the boss or gave him the company. Most of their students couldn't get into A&M or tu and tceh was too far away. Unless you want to be a choir director or sell carpet why go there.

It's different now. Tech and Baylor have been relegated. The BDF will probably cease to be a power conference in the next 20 years.

It really depends how you define "rival".

If you define it as who you recruit against and who is the most impactful "win" of a season. It's Bama.

Now that we recruit nationally, Bama is our biggest rival. Combine that with their recent and historic dominance, beating them on the field legitimizes us as a national power.

That being said, I don't hate Bama or want them to lose any games that don't impact our standing. I want them to continue to be the metric that we are measured against.

If you define a rival as who you hate and actively want to lose every game. Then that is tu and Baylor.

I hate LSU but I don't want them to lose every game. I generally want them to be good so when we beat them it means something.

I don't think about Arky or OU at all.

So depending on your definition, it's either:

1.) Bama
2.) LSU

2.) Baylor

I hate tu and will always hate them, but Bama is our true rival right now.

This, but I might change around the Mississippi and Alabama schools. It's 2022. No school from another conference is going to be your biggest rival. Sure, to Ags who went to A&M pre-2012 the sips are the biggest rival, and will surely return to true rival status if/when they start play in the SEC but until that happens, LSU, Bama, Auburn, Arky and the Miss schools are A&M's rivals. Sips are little brother.

If we begin to win like we should, EVERYBODY will be our rival. The hate will extend from coast to coast. The day I look forward to most is the day we lose and that team's fans storm the field. That will be glorious! It will be when we know we are a legitimate bad***!

As a member of the class of '88, it was tu, then LSU next while I was in school. Still the same even though we haven't played tu in football in 10 seasons.

I said since we joined the SEC we've owned them and they've been irrelevant. This is our 10th season in the SEC, and we won the first 9 meetings. They got one this year. Let's see if they can build on that.

We played 3 times right before changing conferences. They went 3-0 there. But that was 3 wins 10+ years ago. And even if you count those, the series is still 9-4.

Prior to that we played almost every year from 1927 to 1991. They held a decent edge in that series. But I was 4 in 1991 and am 35 now, so none of that matters to me.


Maybe you care more about Arky if you're around their fans more? I only know a couple.

I may be off-base here, but I feel Arkansas has become our new Tech (though I still detest ttu), being a school with expectations that far outweigh their pedigree, below-average academics in comparison to other member institutions, and tons of obnoxious t-shirt fans. I dislike LSU, but can at least point to their stellar academic record (athletics notwithstanding) as something redeeming.

Whether we like it or not, within 3 years the zombie conference known as the Big 12 will be dissolved and its two biggest teams will be full fledged members of the SEC. When that happens there will be an immediate contrast between t.u. and A&M. It will be immediate and ongoing and whether we like it or not the past rivalry will be renewed right where it left off and perhaps with even more intensity since we haven't met on the field or court since 2013. Every contest and every aspect of our facilities, coaching change, recruiting development etc will be reviewed and measured as an indication of the health of our athletic program relative to the t.u. coutnerpart.

Whatever rivalries might have developed within the SEC, we are going to be in an immediate footrace with t.u. and OU (our former conference mates). We better treat it that way because the old media narratives and recruiting narratives will return with vengeance. We are in a much better spot to win that race than we were 10 years ago but denying those rivalries will not change the narrative. Embrace it and grit your teeth.

You can identify sip trolls when the put two gg's in such as agg. No real Aggie does this. It is Ag or Aggie.

I'd say our rival (in football) is whoever we need to beat to get a natty. Sips aren't on that path (other than marginally in recruiting) so not a rival and dgaf about them in any way shape or form. SEC west is primary rivals. Always want to beat bama and lsu for top spot. Miss schools are like tceh from swc and big12 in that we lose when we shouldnt and arky is down. Id put east champs next. The list above is accurate imo
