That's a lot of words to say "Saban is best college coach ever."

When is this "less talent" going to happen? He's had 2 of the 8 best recruiting classes ever the past two years.

Clemson had their worst season in years...and ended up with 10 wins, including bowl win, and a final ranking of #14 in the AP poll. I guess Dabo is done as well? But man...what a way to suffer through a "down" year.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

"The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" - Saban if he wasted his time on TexAgs

Saban spends all his free time on TexAgs getting coaching advice. Why do you think he's so good?
Saban is a quality coach, no doubt, but his brief foray into the NFL proved that he needs better talent to consistently win at a high level. You know, just like every other good coach. Fisher and Swinney have shown an ability to win it all with great talent, then had a few lucky breaks go their way in the one or 2 games they had against comparably talented teams, but the only modern era coach who has proven to have an ability to win at a very high level regardless of talent is Urban Meyer...oh, wait, he couldn't do it either, could he? Maybe Young Urban Meyer.

Relative talent level is, by far, the most important "skill" a coach can have in college football. Saban has been able to out-talent people for nearly 15 years, and he's won a lot with that. If he sticks around another 10 years then it will be interesting to see if he's able to continue ton win titles (division, SEC, cfb) as his talent level drops.
Quality coach huh?

Pretty low praise for somebody that is, without argument, the best college coach that there has ever been.

And the idea that his foray into the NFL is somehow indicative of a failure or weakness of his is just silly. A whole lot of guys fail in the NFL, but only a very very select few have anything approaching the college career that Saban has had. The next closest is Bear Bryant. Let that sink in.

Ohio State at #2 is the real joke.

They were probably the third best team this year. Why is that a joke?

"Saban's slide"

Yeah. The only "slide" involving Saban is when he's sliding it in...

Nick Saban is not on the decline. In 2019, Alabama lost 2 regular season games to LSU and Auburn, and that was their first season of 2 or more regular season losses since 2010. As a result, Alabama was not selected to a BCS or NY6 bowl for the first time since 2010. Many people were saying Nick Saban and the Alabama dynasty was over, but Alabama crushed Michigan 35-16 in the Citrus Bowl to finish 11-2.

In 2020, Alabama went 10-0 in an all-SEC schedule, defeated Florida 52-46 in the SEC Championship Game. In the playoffs, Alabama pounded Notre Dame 31-14 and Ohio State 52-24 to win the national championship. That was only the second time that Nick Saban led an undefeated team to a national championship, and the only other such season was 2009.

In 2021, Alabama had close wins over 6-7 Florida, 6-7 Florida, 9-4 Arkansas, and 6-7 Auburn, but they won the SEC West becasue their only regular season loss was to Texas A&M. Alabama crushed an undefeated 12-0 Georgia 41-24 and smoked Cincinnati 27-6 in the Cotton Bowl CFP. This was the third all SEC National Championship Game, and Alabama won the first two over 2011 SEC Champion LSU and 2017 SEC Champion Georgia. This time, it was a reversal with SEC East Champion Georgia defeating SEC Champion Alabama in a the rematch of the SEC Championship Game.

Alabama typically loses one regular season game, and it's hard to predict who that team will be. I don't see a decline until Alabama loses two or more regular season games for at least 3 consecutive years. Until then, Nick Saban is still the greatest college coach of all time. If Alabama finishes undefeated and wins the CFP National Championship next year, I won't be surprised.

Saban's high water mark is in the rear view mirror. Georgia this time, A&M next time.

I'll believe the decline has started when they have a few 5+ rated recruiting classes.

They were decimated by WR injuries in the final game. Thats like these knucklehead Big12 teams winning a meaningless bowl game and thinking they could win an SEC crown.
