There's some smoke out there that he's headed to Michigan. Started following coaches, players, main account on Twitter. I know it's just Twitter, but hoping for the best here.

Michigan's DL coach just left for USC, so they need someone. And Robinson is the best recruiter in the game. Want to keep him.

If he leaves, it will not be because Michigan outbid A&M as a position coach.
I have no doubt that Jimbo recognizes his importance to the program & will do what is takes (within reason) to keep him at A&M.

This would royally suck, but we would still recruit TX very well on the DL. Don't forget TP brought us Myles Garrett.

He's been overdue for a raise. I think he's the best recruiter in the country. Would be a HUGE loss.

He is supposed to be getting or have already gotten a massive raise. Also, Michigan has way fewer resources than A&M these days. Like, it's not even close. He would only go there for a true DC job, which I don't think they'd offer him. I guess the only other possibility is that he feels like slighted by Jimbo hiring Durkin and promoting Santucci to co-DC. Word is Robinson is getting an associate head coach title along with the raise, but I haven't heard anything official on that. Bottom line, this is not likely to happen, but there is a small possibility depending on what is happening here internally.

For what it's worth, he follows a bunch of people from other programs too, not just Michigan.

The school where the HC took a 50% cut in pay, so he could hire better coaches?!

He went from $8M to $4M.

Seems smart to wait to see of Harbaugh jumps to the NFL first

His roots are big10…maybe he misses that or mad he didn't get DC role (or doesn't mesh w DJ)…or its all just smoke.

We still have to see how Nolen turns out but TP didn't bring him in.

It didn't hurt that Myles's sister was an NCAA champ on the T&F team.

Surely E-Rob does not feel slighted. As a DL coach, he's not the one studying game film and looking for tendencies of the opposition to exploit. If I'm him, I'd insist part of my staying is that he sit in on the film reviews with the DC and be there when the DC maps out the game plan. If I'm Jimbo I woukd have an understanding with him that we are now specifically going to groom him to become a DC. e-Rob is really a smart guy. My hunch is he doesn't feel ready to be a DC right now and feels he needs some grooming for that to happen.

There's very few schools that have our overlap of football passion and incredible school/alumni riches.

Michigan is one of them. If they fully weaponize their alumni base and riches, that would be interesting. Though yes they've been neutered by Ohio for a couple of decades so everyone is probably still depressed.

Meat-chicken fans ( probably because they kept losing to tOSU ) just don't seem as passionate as they used to be. Very similar to how most of the big money horn alums have found other things to support

As for him leaving, would really be good to keep him. I have been very impressed with our DT play from day 1 of his hire, he rescued Mack's career and our DTs have been excellent under his coaching. He also seems to be a great guy and a good recruiter, we need to do everything we can to keep him. Having said that he is a NE guy and at some point no amount of $$ will keep him from a great opportunity he is truly interested in.

Regardless, it is a fairly new ideal / situation to have a DT and a DE coach, two DL coaches. For many years and still for many teams there is ONE DL coach. Under that idiot Fran we had two DB coaches (S and CB), it's just how the head coach likes it.

We have a GREAT DL Coach in Terry Price. He has been in the SEC a long time and always had very good to excellent DLs. While at Auburn under Tuberville the Tigers routinely had one of the best DLs in the SEC.

If Elijah leaves we are still in a great hands if we just had Price handle the entire DL.


As for other D coaches with the hire of Durkin I am guessing Santucci is the primary LB coach but also get an elevated title added on.
