Yes. Not sure if Durkin said no or Sumlin went after Chavis instead but Durkin was very high on the list.

If you're thinking we won't make a hire until Summer, that ain't happening....or it shouldn't. You have to believe we want someone in place by spring practice. If Durkin changed his mind at the last second (and Muschamp said no as rumored) it's not ideal. But 99% of us were euphoric when Sumlin got Chavis...until we started playing games. So you never know.
Sounds like it will be a Co-DC move with Santucci and Durkin

Remember Jimbo wants to keep this Defensive Philosophy in place and Santucci knows it from Elko. Makes sense.
I still think Elijah Robinson needs a title of some kind... special teams or recruiting coordinator or something. He is too big of an asset to not get a bump from this void at DC. We need to keep that guy happy!!!
