We haven't broken any that I know of. But things can be twisted in court by teams with good attorneys. If you think our battles are just on the field. You would be wrong. Look at Deion. He likely did nothing wrong but just the mere specter of an investigation is all that the point is.

Our foes don't have to win. They just have to provide enough speculation to help them recruit against us.

If the NCAA or any other schools go to court, it will take NIL off the table and will cause it to go fully Pay To Play…

I would go with one of three possibilities.

Somebody called hookers - Ol Miss
Somebody donated money to a church - Auburn
Somebody took a hot young assistant on a motorcycle ride - Arkansas

Alabama is not going to standby and watch their players go somewhere and paid more.

Seriously, I don't even know how I could cheat now. Eric Dickerson? LEGAL. Adrian Peterson? LEGAL. Reggie Bush? LEGAL.

The battles will not be in court. We need a nasty fixer and an army of PIs.

And tony is right. They snuck the sips into the sec behind our backs. We should have had an intel operation alerting us. We should have had another influence operation to leverage the decision makers to back off the sips.

Many of you are missing the point. The feckless ncaa still hands out penalties and punishments. See the manufactured bump that Fischer was recently popped with. They're fully capable of looking past actual cheating while "finding" some where it isn't.

An institution like LSU can get away with a dirty basketball program or a hospital slush fund but a supposed lesser name hitting the jackpot must be investigated and put back in line. That's been their MO for many years now.

The only weapon the NCAA has is the one they use to constantly shoot themselves in the foot.

I understand the OP's concern. Those that know the history behind OP's concern will understand as well. Hope it's just more BAS though.

The OP isn't being paranoid or overly conspiratorial. We are wading into some powerful political situations with billions of dollars potentially at stake, and we'd better have an apparatus in place ready to fight--and shoot to kill, so to speak, if necessary.

The NCAA is drafting a new constitution for itself. It could 100 years to do that. Literally.

It may not be the "haves" versus the "have nots" or the bigs versus the littles, but make no mistake, it is very much the "old money" versus the "new money".

Old money doesn't want to lose control and will fight all the "johnny come lately" teams to the very end with every legal/illegal, above board/below board, and any other means they can come up with.

We just need to be ready.

From my vantage point, Courts and DOJ are apparently "on the payroll".

One more thing. It isn't a case of have/have-nots or bigs vs wannabes. It's about the established club vs outsiders.

This. If anyone tries to take A&M over NIL or some other such thing, the NCAA could easily be busted for antitrust violations on top of various other things. And the NCAA has some pretty bad lawyer teams working for them.

If anything, it is the NCAA who is treading on thin ice.

And as far as the money goes, Walter Nolen himself basically said Tennessee had more money to offer in NIL deals. A&M is technically actually behind many other programs in terms of how much money sponsors can pay out in NIL deals. There's players getting literal 7 figure deals and severely outbidding A&M and yet A&M keeps winning recruiting battles.

This isn't about money, it's about Fisher just being better at his job than all but two or three people.

You'd be foolish to think that Texas brass isn't ALWAYS trying to find a way to put us back down. They are absolutely hating the divergence between our two programs. They will leverage anything to get back on top. Don't be dense.

I'm confident we'll be okay.

We are the haves.
We have many lawyers.
NIL plays to our strengths and we have not broken any of the rules since there really aren't any.
But if our competitors say we did we have plenty of lawyers to argue otherwise.

Some are dense and 1 dimensional! Bama and the other helmets will try to use the ncaa, the msm, and other political machinations to keep us down. They always do whenever someone gets in their lane. The history is too consistent to conclude otherwise.

The NCAA is just their cats paw. The NCAA still has plenty of authority. They are very selective about using it, since conference commissioners can push back. Rest nervous, the SEC will not take up for us bc it's run by bammers.

That is why we need our own version of the cia to fight back when it comes.
