So every time the next 3 years that the steers and thieves get curb stomped by the little dwarves, they get the dwarf fans chanting S-E-C! Love it!

You people realize Snakey screwed us before...and he's about to do it again by covering OU's costs and t.u. will whine about it.
So Snakey will use SEC monies that were supposed to go to current members via revenue-sharing to placate t.u. and pay for them too.
You watch....it's gonna happen.
He is a worthless POS who doesn't care one iota whether A&M football succeeds or not.
Because he's too stupid and short-sighted too see that a monster A&M program would bring with it a massive ratings footprint...just in A&M haters alone...much less our own massive fanbase in Texas.
He will find a way to screw us again.

I don't think he's a sellout, just a total *******. The sellouts are the people in our administration who didn't fight this harder, and even voted for it. Those slimy *******s should never be allowed any affiliation with A&M again.

O/U for sip/sooner combined coaching changes before SEC play set at 1.5 or 2.5?

The whole deal was already a creative accounting exercise to persuade the members to vote for it.
If Snakey were to try and pitch some bailout plan with promises of untold riches later, the members should kick his ass to the curb.
The'll go all in like some retirees at a Branson timeshare pitch.

Not sure who the Twitter guy is but chances are he has zero credible sources as to a financial decision of this magnitude for not Ou nor Texas. They will both be out sooner than 2025.

In what world does that make sense? I think people are confusing exit fees and tv rights. The SEC would have to pay 100% of the revenue brought in by tu and ou to the Big12. The SEC would get $0 from those games. So in what world would the SEC do that?

It's amazing how many people don't get this. They're so stuck on the "but they're texas and Oklahoma and they can do whatever they want!" narrative.

Ou and tu joining the SEC early died when the Big 12 stabilized and expanded. Everyone on this board owes Bob Bowlsby a big thank you.

Whatever the costs, fees, actual revenue loss, etc. should be covered SOLELY by tu and ou respectively. They want to escape...they can ante up to enter the game or sit by and watch the REAL PLAYERS.

Would be thrilled to watch both declare bankruptcy and have to "sit out" for awhile. Delicious thought!

this mean the Jerryworld contract will expire before the sips & sooners join the league. Good.

also means Georgia will keep its 2024 date at Kyle Field. Great

Lol all 14 existing members would vote to fire him in a heartbeat if he took $180M+ to get OU in early, or $360M+ to get both in early. Your hatred of Sankey is keeping you from thinking logically.

Big 12 bylaws require leaving schools to give 18 months of notice and pay a hefty exit fee equivalent to two years of revenue distribution. Pretty simple logical possible explanation isn't an issue in this matter.

This is probably the 30th time I've had to post this on the board, but Big 12 bylaw exit fees are not the same as paying to get out of the Tier 1 and 2 media GoR. Sips and thieves are paying a minimum of $80M to leave period. That means if they join in 2025 they're still paying $80M. To put that in context for you, that's almost as much as us firing Jimbo right now. And the sips made about $9M in profit in the last academic year unaffected by the pandemic. So your "logical explanation" is that the sips, or even more laughably so, the sooners, are each going to find enough money in a lump cash sum to fire Jimbo more than twice each.

The BDF will only have a seat at the power table until the other kids vote them out sometime after 2025. Their next tv contract will be far less lucrative even with more dwarves and byu.

They are only stable for a few more years.

Ok, cool...

Still irrelevant to the sips and sooners joining before 2025.

Also probably unlikely that there would be enough votes in the NCAA to remove the Big 12's Autonomy 5 status. Any G5 schools that vote for that would be shooting themselves in the foot by shrinking the size of the cool kids club that they may hope to join one day. And "the Alliance" has said they want the Big 12 to survive, for what that's worth.

There is no way the Big12 will give back the tv rights, or sell them back for less than face value. There is no incentive for them to ever do so. Without that tu and out bring $0 to the SEC and are not worth anything. The only reason they were invited was for their tv rights.

Or they get the SEC to pay it.
I think the SEC would only do that if they could provide proof that it would make all current institutions more money if they did, because it could bee that money the SEC pays out might mean less to each member institution.

Just a thought.

If ou is soooo in debt now with its current BDF revenue stream, how are they EVER going to come up with the ticket price? SEC won't take one alone...so, feasibility seems to be an on-going concern. No one realized this in advance??

Even if they pay the fees and leave the Big12, THEY STILL WONT OWN THIER TV RIGHTS AND WILL BE WORTHLESS TO THE SEC. The grant of rights and exit fees are NOT the same thing. The Big12 gets all of the tu and ou tv revenue until 2025 no matter what conference they play in. They have no value to the SEC until 2025.

Sankey : "Hey, guys! Remember all that money I said you would make if we added Texas and Oklahoma? Well now we're gonna have to take all that money away and give it to Texas and Oklahoma. And because it costs around $280M each to add them early, all 14 of you are now going to lose money over the next several years because it's so expensive! Isn't this great??? This totally won't get me fired at all!"

This ship has sailed. Say it with me, WE VOTED OU and TEXAS INTO SEC.

We can no longer complain about what Sankey did or didn't do. We lost that right.
Nothing looks more foolish than tradition to those who have none.
