In practice or a game? He's throwing right now which doesn't indicate anything right now. I'm sure if he did take snaps in the game it would be with the starters. My point is game time would be better than spring ball to shake the rust off. He doesn't or wouldn't need to play the whole bowl game, but if healthy it would be nice to see him get some more real game experience heading into spring ball.

Correct, Some combo of trainor/Aki/Zuhn will probably fill in assuming Green & 58 opt out…

Trainor played well against bama

Fatheree, layden, & Foster have come a very long way this year…

Even w 2 presumed opt outs, I'm still pumped to see Haynes behind this line

Really glad to have had him and he bought in and played well overall. Had good things to say re: aTm coming from UT. Hey, it wasn't the 3rd Saturday in October, but he was able to beat Bama....

Right. Johnson and Green may not play. If so, be careful what you wish for.
Either way, at the very least, we will have 3 full time starters, and at least 5 guys who have started before when you add Trainor and Akinola. Even without Green and Johnson.

You can't coach scared. You play the best you have available. Whether it's for the national championship, or what message board posters deem a meaningless game.

If King was still at further risk of re-injury, he wouldn't play. Short of that, he plays.

NCAA Championships (Football Championship Subdivision/Division II/Division III), Bowl (Football Bowl Subdivision)
  • If there is a two week or less period of time between the final regular season game or conference championship game (for participating institutions) and the next bowl or postseason game, then inseason practice recommendations should remain in place.
  • If there is greater than two weeks between the final regular season game or conference championship game (for participating institutions) and the next bowl or postseason game, then:
    • Up to three days may be live-contact (two of which should be live contact/thud).
    • There must be three non-contact/minimal contact practices in a given week.
    • The day preceding and following live contact/tackling should be non-contact/minimal contact or no football practice.
    • One day must be no football practice.
Quarterback can't throw the ball lying on his back.

Anyone who thinks a freshman walk on 3rd string qb is a better option than the 4 star guy who won the starting job last summer is delusional at best. If King is cleared to play he will play. No replacement for game reps, why waste them on someone who will never be the starting Qb. I hope Bost gets to play because we are up by 4 scores in the 4th quarter.
