Depends on how many current guys leave.

Youth and inexperience could cost us some games especially if the schedule doesn't set up for seasoning of the new guys.

It will be our most talented team though.

Weigman Finishes #4 in the Heisman Race.
A&M has a top 3 defense nationally.

We go 11-1, losing at Bama by less than 10.

We make it in the playoffs. The committee pits #1 Bama vs #4 A&M against each other to avoid yet another all-SEC natty game.

In all seriousness, A natty takes more than just players and coaching. It takes a little bit of luck. But Luck evens out over time. In the next 3 years, my guess is one natty. No telling which year it is.

based off the current commits, id say 2 of the incoming Dline guys contribute early. Nolan/GBD instant starter or at the very least getting rotations with all the guys leaving (Clemons, peevy, Leal).

With the way we've been recruiting db talent I say at least one of those guys has a big impact. Similar to how Chappell and A Johnson were.

Really hoping Weigman is a generational talent, and if he beats out Haynes watch out. Receivers hopefully Evan Stewart can come in and have an instant impact. Gonna be an exciting next few years.

Sept. 3 Sam Houston State - W
Sept. 10 App State -W
Sept. 17 Miami (FL) - W
Sept. 24 vs. Arkansas (Arlington) - W
Oct. 1 at Mississippi State - W
Oct. 8 at Alabama - L
Oct. 22 at South Carolina -W
Oct. 29 Ole Miss - Toss Up
Nov. 5 Florida - W
Nov. 12 at Auburn - W
Nov. 19 UMass - W
Nov. 26 LSU - W

Our offense will be better with a more experienced line, good stable of backs, good wideouts, and improved QB play.

Defense may take a slight step back early but they'll be good and improve as the year goes on.

11-1 to 10-2 is my prediction. Ole Miss will be tough but we do get them at home and they'll have a new started at QB.

Rebuilding one of the best Dlines in our school's history w a lot of young talent…. I expect a lot of flash, but inconsistency overall

I think the linebackers will be a bright spot next year

I'm not sure about the secondary, especially if Demani leaves… does jaylon Jones move to safety?

On offense, the line will return w a lot of starts, but we're replacing a tackle & a guard… unless Matthew's is healthy & Foster slides out to guard

Running back will continue to be a bright spot

I expect the receivers to take a step forward & have less drops

I assume Haynes wins the starting job again, but he will have a lot work to do since he missed out on a full year of playing experience opportunity

I think win/loss will be similar to this year… we'll have a shot at New Years six but probably just miss it
Cheating ass refs are the real pandemic

I am expecting a floor of 9-3 (5-3 SEC) and a ceiling of 11-1 (7-1 SEC), and I predict a 10-2 finish. I think we will win all 7 of our home games, including all 4 against Power 5 teams: Miami, Ole Miss, Florida, and LSU. To me, the trickiest road game will be at Auburn.

OL only has one vacancy. Stud recruits incoming.
QB room will look a lot better. Stud recruit incoming.
DL will have several vacancies, but we rotate a lot, so backups with serious playing time are already in the lineup. Oh, yeah, stud recruits incoming.
RB should be solid. Stud recruit incoming.
WR room should be healthy. Stud recruits incoming.
DB should be improved. Stud recruits incoming.
TE - JW probably leaving, so will we finally see Baylor Cupp? Stud recruits incoming.
LB should stay solid. Stud recruit incoming.

Bama and Auburn away.
LSU and Ol Miss at home (predicting retaliatory beatdowns)
Miami new coach and system.

I'm going with at least 10 wins.

I think it can happen in 2023 because that is the next time we are scheduled to play Alabama at Kyle Field.
1. Even if we beat Alabama, we must split road games at Ole Miss and LSU to finish with a 7-1 SEC record.
2. If we win the SEC West, we must beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.
3. If we win the SEC Championship game, we must win two CFP games to win the national championship.

To achieve all of these goals takes not only great coaching and players, but also some luck. But I believe we can win a national championship in 2023.

Yes, I am being realistic because we are playing Alabama in Tuscaloosa next year. The only way we can win the SEC West is to beat Alabama and finish with a 7-1 SEC record. If we finish 11-1 (7-1 SEC) with our loss to Alabama, we will not win the SEC West, unless Alabama loses 2 conference games.

Depends on what you mean by waiting until next year? 1 out of 128 teams get to be crowned. Hell, Georgia looked like an absolute juggernaut this year, and are going to have major problems closing it out.

It shouldn't be national championship or bust, as much as we'd all like that. If we went 11-2 or 12-1 with a Sugar Bowl win? I think we could all handle that. Just start doing that every year, and eventually you get over the hump and win it all.

No, that really isn't likely. And with QB1, it won't be likely any year moving forward under Fisher, this year included.

Now, get your starting QB hurt, and all bets are off. I know some say it's excuses, but it really matters in Fisher's offense, and in general for most teams. Baylor the rare exception this year, albeit against lesser competition. They go 8-4 or worse against our schedule, too.

I have us at 10-2 or 11-1 next year.

I totally agree with you. Yes, we would like to be a national championship or bust team, but no team can win one every single year, not Alabama, Clemson, or Ohio State. I would be happy with 10+ win seasons that include NY6 bowl wins. By stringing together these seasons, we will eventually get over the hump and win it all. Hopefully, that will start next year.

Inflation has now hit double digits per month. Basic consumer products can't be regularly found and gas is now $29 a gallon when available. Netflix is still a bargain, so nobody notices.

Germany is now partnered with Russia and NATO exists in name only. China's invasion of Taiwan was a success but wasn't enough to distract from systemic problems at home and political assassinations are now regularly happening.

But

Aggies win National Championship.

as Iraq has mentioned...it's all about the road games --- the games away from Kyle.

I expect the Ags to be 7-0 or 6-1 at home in 2022 --- doesn't matter the opponents.

however here are the 5 road/neutral games:

at Alabama
at Auburn
at South Carolina
at Mississippi State
vs. Arkansas

that looks like 3-2.

so once again right on the cups of an NY6 bowl...borderline top 10

Just an outsider's opine.

Respectfully, Texas A&M is a lot closer than you think.

Beating Alabama was huge. The difference was between the ears. They played with mental toughness which you have or you don't.

Forget game semantics. A&M beat them at their own game. They maintained the mental edge . They forced themselves on Alabama.

Alabama is not used to take repeated punches in the mouth. A&M did that.

Auburn didn't have the mental attitude.
Georgia didn't have the mental attitude.

The CFP participants don't exhibit mental toughness.

Cincinnati is just glad to be there.

Michigan spent themselves beating tOSU

Georgia is Mark Richt revisited.

Alabama is Alabama. Saban will have them focused and ready to play.

Texas A&M is on the edge. Keep the quarterback healthy and sharpen the mental toughness and A&M can stand how to toe with Bama.

We just need to be more confident.

2 years ago everyone said I was an idiot when I said the OL would be our strength and the team would be really good.

This year everyone said I was an idiot when I said the OL and QB were serious problems and we would lose 4-5 games.

So how about next year...

QB - Every game Calzada plays is a potential loss except SH, APP State, and UMass. He is simply not a good college QB. Should have known when his team was terrible in HS. A top program QB can win HS games all by himself. King has no legit experience. Thankfully the first 5 games are pretty easy. Please play King, please play King, please play King. Let's all chant this since Jimbo so often sticks with players who can't play.

OL - Everything good we lose in having Kenyon leave is offset by everything bad Jahmir Johnson was since both leave. Why anyone would think plugging a bad OL from TN was the answer is beyond me, but JJ was a horrible player. We won't be great on the OL, but we won't be horrible either. Good enough to beat everyone but Bama.

WR - I have been such a big Demas fan but I was wrong. When he passed by the DB on a run for the 100th time I realized he just isn't willing to be a team guy. Sure he will yell on the sideline, but he won't block. I don't know why our WRs are so bad year after year. Hopefully this year will be different. Too bad Jimbo won't play a freshman receiver, Stewart should start day 1.

RB - we are really good here obviously

DL - so much young talent, we should survive the losses on DL. The freshmen will play from game 1

TE - Wydermeyer wasn't exactly inspiring this season, he can be replaced easily enough

LB's - actually the strength of the team.

DBs - also really good next year, like possibly really really good.

Schedule - next years schedule is our easiest in a long time. Everyone but Bama and kinda LSU are losing their core. Some of these teams will be the worst we have ever seen them (Arkie). Our only tough games are Bama and LSU. We are better than LSU though. Would have won by 20 with AnyQBnotnamedZacCalzada.

Coaching - recruiting is way more valuable than coaching so I understand Jimbo and his 10 year contract, but our game plans, overall scheme, and adjustments aren't top tier. We are VERY easy to defend and our offense just doesn't scare defenses.

11-1, only loss to Bama and left out of the CFPlayoff. We will be the reason this upcoming year the playoff finally switches to 6 or 8 teams. Everyone will know we are the 2nd best team out there and we won't get a chance because we won't be in the conf championship game.

Sept. 3 Sam Houston State - easy W
Sept. 10 App State - easy W
Sept. 17 Miami (FL) - pretty easy win
Sept. 24 vs. Arkansas (Arlington) - easy win
Oct. 1 at Mississippi State - easy W
Oct. 8 at Alabama - L (might not be pretty)
Oct. 22 at South Carolina -easy W
Oct. 29 Ole Miss - easy win
Nov. 5 Florida - W
Nov. 12 at Auburn - W
Nov. 19 UMass - easy W
Nov. 26 LSU - W we might really crush them

  • All our scholarship QBs get hurt partying in Vegas with NIL money.
  • Reinard Britz from the scout team is the starter for the rest of the year. He's got a sweet flow like that guy from Clemson.
  • We lose to App State.
  • TexAgs riots and burns Jimbo & Elko at the stake on Simpson Drill Field.
  • The collective hive mind begins the search for a new head coach.
  • Ags hemorrhage players to the transfer portal.
  • TexAgs finds their guy in Dennys Franchyone and submit to his newsletter.
  • Ags continue to lose.
  • College Station is destroyed because there was dormant volcano under the city and we didn't have Tommy Lee Jones there to drop a building on the lava to save us like he did in LA.

I can handle a couple losses as long as we blast Arkansas and LSU. It's not Jimbo's style but I hope if we get an early lead in those games we just keep scoring. Win by 100.

Realistically I would be pleased with a 10-2 season and a top 10 finish. That said we will have a ton of talent and if we catch lightning then it could be special.

Not sure I understand the thought process that next years SOS will be on the easier side. Road games against Bama, Aub and Miss St (who we could not handle at home this year) along with Napier Florida and Kelly Lsu squads at home is very tricky to predict.

Talent wise we will have more than enough, but can all of that be developed into cohesive and complimentary Off and Def units?

This year's QB was not the problem (nor is he the long-term solution). Calzada had bad knee and shoulder after the Aub game obviously, so why did Jimbo/Dickey not install 4-5 wildcat plays for Anias at QB to provide another wrinkle to defend against when converting key, third-down and short yardage? That alone could have easily turned the Ole Miss and Lsu outcomes around. We've had 3+ weeks to install this in preparation for Wake Forest since conclusion of regular season...not rocket science, just a fundamental understanding of math and probability).
